Wai was a child when his parents were murdered by a double agent in Vietnam, Liu. Wai was raised by his dad's best friend. Once grown up, he becomes a pilot, whilst Liu becomes a rich and powerful man in Vietnam. After his unsuccessful attempt of assassination on Liu, he instead gathers criminal evidence against Liu for the CIA. Knowing the link link to Liu is through his daughter, he goes undercover to impress Liu and to get closer to his daughter. He also has an affair with Liu's mistress, Mona.
