To the left is the Pureaction filter, to the right is the original MAKEFIT filter I am replacing. This filter measures approximately 2 - 1/2" diameter and 2 - 1/8" tall, as pictured. I ordered this as a replacement & upgrade for the MAKEFIT filtered shower head sold here on Amazon. There's not a lot of companies (besides MAKEFIT and Pureaction) that seem to sell this size filter, despite the fact that it seems to be widely used. At the current list price of 29.99 this is fantastically expensive compared to the competing brand which offers one at half this price, but if this one provides superior performance to the original I am replacing then I suppose it's worth it. Still, the shower head this is going into costs less than this single filter. The box says it contains Calcium Sulfite, KDF-55, and activated carbon. It has an arrow marking which way is "UP", which according to the instructions should be installed opposite the direction of water flow. I suggest running some water through it for at least a few minutes before stepping under it.

This replacement filter is a must for owners of the PureAction SH100 shower head - I'm not sure if there is an alternative, actually. Install is easy - just screw off the front of the shower head, remove the old filter (a slight wiggle may be needed), insert the new filter - making sure to get the correct end up - and screw the front of the shower head back on.Viola - after a couple of seconds to flush out the new cartridge, you get lovely filtered water in your shower.If you have a SH100 showered, you'll need one of these eventually, and this works as expected. Recommended.

I don't need it yet, as I just purchased the showerhead this goes with. But I thought I'd grab it while I could as I had trouble finding it. Easy to install. Price isn't great, because it's almost the cost of the whole showerhead with filter installed, but I'm all in now, so will need to keep up on the filters, as they expire. It does make my skin less dry, and helps keep the soap scum down in the shower.

The filter has a good water flow through it. There is a minimal reduction of water pressure and the flow is still strong.When first installed you would have to keep the water running for a few minutes until there is no more black carbon powder coming out of it.Over all it seems like it does it's job.

I will only use the shower heads where I can install this very filter. We have hard water, with lots of minerals. So it does build up in your hair, as well as on the shower walls, the shower door and the tiles. So filtration is an absolute must.These filters must eliminate close to 80-85% of the mineral buildup (seems like mostly lime) and the hardness of the water. My hair feels softer and less tacky, and the shower has far fewer hard water stains, or lime like deposits. So these filters are worth their weight in gold. Less time shampooing or cleaning a shower is a major, major benefit.
