Cozy reading…😊
In "Heretical Fishing," readers are treated to a captivating narrative that intertwines elements of cultivation, romance, and self-discovery. Reminiscent of "Beware of Chicken," the protagonist undergoes a journey of personal growth, unaware of their latent abilities at first, yet gradually discovering their true potential while striving to improve their surroundings. What sets "Heretical Fishing" apart is its nuanced character development, where protagonists aren't rushed into relationships but instead evolve organically, allowing readers to empathize with their struggles and motivations. Trunk-Kun, a beloved character, makes a notable appearance, ensuring fans of the litrpg series that familiar elements are still present in this richly imagined world. With its multi-dimensional characters and thoughtfully crafted storyline, "Heretical Fishing" promises to immerse readers in a spellbinding tale of adventure, love, and the pursuit of truth.

Great and relaxing book!
Wasn't sure I'd enjoy this since I'm not very outdoorsey, but I absolutely loved this book! Very enjoyable slice of life that has me even rethinking some of my own things in life. The MC is very laid back, not the guy that is driven to solve and save everyone, and is actually just happy having a simple life. The supporting cast are well fleshed out and really help push the story. If you're looking for a chill book you really can not go wrong. Even if you don't fish.

A Very Satisfying Read!
I loved this book and highly recommended it for anyone who loves litrpg adventure novels. The MC is very human and charming in his over powered and clueless ways. More attention is paid to relationships rather than world building but the story builds a solid foundation for future adventures. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series. Happy reading ✌🏾

Farcical but fun
So, I generally enjoyed the book and have pre-ordered the next one. It was kind of shallow in many ways but still a fun read for the most part. It is generally sweet (sometimes to the point of being saccharine) and can get melodramatic. Some characters feel genuine and believable. Some are just caricatures of people, particularly some of the villains who seem right out of some kid's superhero comic book. If you want solid world building you will be disappointed as the world is entirely unbelievable with so many holes and inconsistencies, you could drive a trunk-kun through it.Despite the many flaws, with the exception of a few cringe-worthy episodes I enjoyed it. It is sort of a mix of feel-good drama, sitcom, and romcom with fantasy elements. As many descriptions say, it is largely cozy. The MC is someone just looking to enjoy the simple life with good friends and do some good in the world. There is a large amount of descriptions of fishing, cooking, enjoying food and other simple stuff, some of which I flipped through because it got repetitive and boring. How many times can you read about a guy enjoying a sunrise, a breeze or a piece of fish before it gets old? But, overall there is a plot that moves along at a reasonable enough pace to keep your interest. Most of the characters are enjoyable. And, of course, there are many adorable animal companions. (Wait, is this a Disney film? Anyway.)So, if you are not too demanding about world building and can tolerate a few shallow villainous characters, this is mostly an easy, fun read that will generally leave a smile on your face.

Fishing is Heretical? Fools!
Wonderfully cozy book! I haven't been this excited to hop into a book in awhile and it was well worth it! It was hard to put down once I started. The world building is *chefs kiss* 🤌 and the characters have great depth and personality. Very comical and gave me the warm fuzzies! If you want something comfy to read this is a wonderful book!

Cozy cultivation
Fischer is a fun bloke, and I'm sure he'd be a chill dude to hang with. The story is fun and the characters are believable and well defined. There is much world building to do, but its kind of fun to learn along side the MC. I look forward to where these heretics go.

I loved every moment!
This book is a refreshing change after many murder hobo variants in the genre. This book is extremely well written, so there's no need for cringing over countless grammar and plot errors here. I absolutely adore how the mc loves scritches and couldn't care less about stats. The final . . . Boss fight? . . . Is the best thing I've read in years. This is definitely in the same spirit as Beware of Chicken, but I think it's even more cute. I cannot wait for the second audible to come out so that I can read and listen along! Fantastic narrator, as well. 10/10 easily.

Weird title, weird cover art, awesome story!
Take all the rules of cultivation, isekai and litrpg stories, throw them in a blender, add a healthy dash of Aussie humor, a cup of a suger-fueled 4yo's imagination, and it will maybe, possibly, sorta resemble this odd, sweet, fun series!

What a book!
This was such a fun read I couldn’t put it down. It’s a nice cozy relaxed slice of life with a great concept, amazing characters and well written dialogue. It gives the same cozy feelings as Beware of Chicken. Can’t wait for the next!

Think Beware of the Chicken if the farming was gardening.
Easy to read, good character development and on the whole everyone is a jolly good bloke. Even the crab. Easy reading but I’ll await the next in the series and hope the author can keep it as relaxed.

Wonderful und relaxing read! Romantic and exciting! I want to go fishing ... :-)
The story offers a refreshingly quirky take on the isekai genre, delightfully subverting typical hero tropes with its protagonist, Fischer, who's more interested in fishing than fulfilling any grand destiny. Unlike the archetypal hero thirsting for power and adventure, Fischer's reluctance and simple desires inject a humorous and relatable humanity into a fantastical setting. The narrative cleverly plays with the expectations of both the characters and the readers, weaving in a rich tapestry of mystifying cosmic forces and the allure of forbidden fishing techniques. Romantic and exciting! Waiting for more!
