I'm a woman who rides dirt bikes. :) Armoring up is a necessity if you are smart even if you are an experienced rider which I am still working on. I read all the reviews regarding this armor and it's what helped me to decide. I went with a size Medium based on other buyers who stated their size. (Thank-you so much for that!) I'm 5'6" and about 150 lbs. The Medium is perfect.I was so pleased with this product in every way... fit, style, engineering, comfort and protection. I felt one with my body armor like it was a second skin. Didn't remember I was even wearing it until I had a few slaps from branches as I was maneuvering some tight trails. Kept thinking "that would have been my shoulder were it not for this awesome armor". Spot on fit everywhere protection is needed. Quality construction all around. The mesh has enough body to it that its going to last awhile but breathes very well, where as mesh I've seen on other body armor is not as substantial and doesn't hold up for long. Stitching is excellent as well. The plating on the chest and back is amazing. I'm completely satisfied and then some.Have fun whatever you are doing and "Be Safe"!!

Overview: To start off this is a great piece of body armor for mountain biking by Fox. It has heavy duty protection in all the right areas with comfortable high impact foam built in and a mesh outer liner to hold all the armor pieces together. The back plate is removable if you like not having a back plate either for comfort or to wear a backpack. Elbow and shoulder pads are very nice well built. Overall this body armor is a heck of a deal compared to some others out there. I personally would recommended this as I do downhill mtb. For the speeds I've crashed at this armor has soaked it up no problem. Definitely worth the investment.Pros: all around great body protection. Durable welll built by Fox with easily form fitting mesh. Incredibly light and breathes very well. Great price!!!Cons: waist strap is made for a guy with a beer gut doesn't tighten down well but its not a big issue, nor a safety concern. With back plate on its hard to wear a jersey over it and also the armor has no way to attach a neck brace if you like having one.Conclusion: BUY IT! ITS WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD ALONE THIS ARMOR PROTECTS AMAZINGLY WELL AND ITS MADE BY FOX SO YOU KNOW IT WILL BE GOOD!

I will never ride without this jacket again. I do most of my riding in the high desert. It is hot, dusty and rocky during the summer and sub zero with snow during the winter. I was a bit nervous that it would be too hot during the summer, but the jacket vents better than I thought and is well worth the extra protection. I have taken 2 falls while wearing this and it did its job PERFECTLY. One fall was at slow speed on a steep hill and I fell onto my back and slid. I had a little scrape just below the kidney belt, but was fine other than that. I also crashed on a large patch of ice hidden under snow at high speed (low side). I hit pretty hard on my elbow and slid quite a ways. This jacket did its job! I was totally fine except for my hip which is still hurting 2 weeks later (I am shopping for armored pants now). The jacket also fits very well. I am 5'10" 170 lbs and ordered a medium. It fits great. It is even comfortable for long rides wearing it all day. I have had it now for about 8 months now and the jacket is also holding up very well even after 2 crashes. THIS IS WELL WORTH THE $$$.

I echo much of the positive about this armor: Light, breathable, good value, and good protection. I purchased and wore for an extended, off pavement motorcycle trip - my first. I was very happy to have the protection as the terrain was much more rugged than I had expected. I seriously doubt my street gear would have protected me as well from the sharp rocks, branches, trees, etc. we were traveling through. I went down at around 20mph and landed on my back and elbow with no pain or injury. Surprisingly comfortable and well worth the investment. I took a star off for fit. I am 6ft and 175lbs. Based on the other reviews I ordered a large. It fit well except, as others commented, the spine protection rode high and the waist belt too big. I ordered a medium which fit much better around the waist and somewhat better along the spine. In comparing the two, the spine section is the same length only the waste belt is riveted on higher. A better designed jacket would have different sized armor or allow adjustments of some type. Still, for the price and how little I plan on using it I am quite happy with the purchase. So here in Indy it gets really hot and humid in the middle to later parts of the summer. I like to ride my bike into the office to save on gas and to give myself a little enjoyment in the process. I got tired of sitting at lights with a leather jacket on and since I have a partial highway commute, I don't like to go without something on the upper half.I found that after adjusting the straps this jacket fits very well, the pads don't move much. It does indeed keep you cool as well as give you a sense of being protected against impact as well as road rash. This is a padded mesh jacket with hard plastic over that. Based on other reviews I also don't expect this thing to be bullet proof but it will for sure help a lot in keeping the majority of my skin on.The other brands that are out there are comprable in protection but are a little more in price. I was on the fence between this and the Alpine star offering, but I don't currently have any regrets. Even though this is mostly made for motocross type riding, it really looks to be of a quality that it would hold up to sliding down the pavement.I recommend it as a option for summer riding.

Chest plate is poorly shaped, not just on the one I got. It sticks out and looks funny under a jersey. The chest plate also comes up to high and hits your throat a little when moving around on technical trails. Protection is good though.

Love this product. Fit great, looks aggressive and I feel safer on my bike. No complaints.

Absolutely awesome fit! I'm 5'10" 85kg with a 42" chest and the large fits perfectly. Easy to put on and take off, plus the bonus of it being a very well respected brand at most if not all bike parks... Love it!!

First day I used it I crashed really hard over my handle bars into a very sharp rock garden and only had a minor cut on my shoulder.

Great Product delivered on time and fits correctly, would recommend.
