This fantastic, officially licensed Astro Boy building set by Pan Tasy provides several hours of building satisfaction and looks amazing when finished. The build ltself isn't overcomplicated for older, more experienced builders. The thick, fully illustrated manual takes you through everything step by step, making the process as easy as possible. After each section, it gives you a percentage of how much of the model is built - it's quite encouraging. It took myself and my husband about 5 hours to build - he sorted the pieces whilst I put them together. We were both very impressed with the amount of intricate detail on the model - it really looks wonderful and the quality is first class. There's some articulation to the model, although most is on the robotic side. I'm so impressed, that I've sent off for a light kit to add to the model, which I feel will really bring it to life. The model kit comes presented in a branded, full colour box, containing a thick, good quality manual and 2 large bags (each containing smaller bags) of bricks. The bricks have been helpfully sorted into numbered bags, each corresponding with sections of the manual, so you only need to open up the bags you need. The bricks are of the same size and quality as that of a well known branded company. This is not in any way a cheap, inferior building set.Overall it an amazing build, great for Astro Boy fans and those who like their building sets detailed and a little challenging.

When I first saw this, I was got have it, Buuuut, it's not genuine Lego. Then I thought I'll give it a chance because the images looked fantastic. And I'm so glad I did. The photos are spot on.He looks awesome and was such a fun build. Yes, it's not really Lego, but the pieces are sturdy and fit together well. It's not a kids toy and the 18+ is because you have to be a more experienced builder. The instructions are clear and laid out just like a Lego build is so it wasn't hard to follow. The additional stand is not just an after thought and also adds to the quality of the whole build.My only disappointment is the lack of articulation on the right-hand side arm. Unlike his left mecha side, it's a fixed build and the only moment is on his shoulder to move the arm up or down. But I didn't buy him to pose him for actions shots, so it didn't take anything away from him for me.Will I be buying more Pantasy models, most definitely.

AAA+ for Customer ServiceThe black flexible tubes are not flexible enough and cause the blocks to separate, if it was a cheap set I'd say ok and adapt the build. But it is not cheapThe manual though was A+

This Astro Boy Building Kit (Model No: 86203 – Clear Version) arrives, well packed in a nice looking Pantasy branded cardboard box, that is more than suitable should you be wishing to give it as a gift.For those unaware, Astro Boy (aka Mighty Atom) is a classic Japanese manga character that has been around since the early 1950s. Pantasy is a relatively new company producing brick construction models aimed at adults, based on popular IPs (intellectual properties).Always a little sceptical, I was concerned this might turn out to be a knock off product, but upon double checking, this kit is definitely officially licensed from Tezuka Productions (the owners of the Astro Boy IP). It even comes with the official hologram stickers to prove this.Made of ABS plastic, the various pieces feel well made and fit together perfectly. The mechanical side has some especially unique and detailed looking pieces.The instructions are in Japanese, but thankfully there is very little text. And this is not really an issue because, just like with LEGO instructions, you get all you need to know from the clear, well thought out, pictures and diagrams.When constructed the model measures about 15cm wide, 13.5cm deep and 32.5cm tall. It looks great and has several articulated joints which allow you to change some of its positioning to how you’d like it.The box states that it is for ages 18+, but I would imagine most kids over the age of 11 should be able to construct it. (There are a few fiddly, detailed parts which children younger than this might struggle with.)In conclusion, this is a good quality product and I had a fun time piecing it together. I’m really happy with the finished results, especially the level of detail on the mechanical side. Price is always going to be subjective for a product that is aimed at the adult collectable market. But given the size of the finished model, the fact it has 1258 pieces, and the fact that it is currently selling for £69.99 (March 2023, with a £10 off coupon), I would say that it is competitively priced.As a result, despite that initial scepticism, I have no issue giving this a full 5 stars.~ Amazon asked me to review this product and to give my honest and impartial opinion about it. My son was into Lego sets growing up, and I got into them as well, so even after he graduated and moved out, I still by hundreds of sets each year. With over 1000 sets in the basement between Lego and Megabloks, I've got a lot of time building.Pantasy is the best third party company when it comes to bricks. So many have horrible instructions, bad designs, or shoddy bricks that most people assume if it isn't Lego, it's junk.This company consistently proves that wrong. I've got many of their sets, and every one is well done.Pieces are all high quality, all stay together well, nothing malformed, and no missing pieces.Their instructions are generally BETTER than the Lego set instructions. They are amazingly well done.The sets are so much fun, things that the big name companies aren't doing. My son was a fan of the Astro-Boy movies, and I enjoyed them too, so this was a set that just looked too awesome to pass up.Assembly was fine, instructions were clear, parts were quality, and everything went together fine. The end result is a great looking display piece.Definitely worth looking into their sets.

Dopo diverse esperienze negative con costruzioni non originali Lego mi ero ripromesso di non acquistarne più.Poi navigando tra video e altro mi capita di vedere questo modello che mi ha attirato istantaneamente.L'idea è a dir poco stupenda e le varie foto e video recensioni non facevano altro che farmelo apprezzare sempre di più.Ma restava sempre in me quella avversione verso i prodotti non Lego.Ma l'interesse era più forte e quindi mi metto a vedere video recensioni di ogni tipo, dove il punto finale era sempre uno:"Il prodotto non ha nulla da invidiare ai più famosi mattoncini."E così la mia voglia di averlo cresce ancora di più.Un giorno apro Amazon e, senza nemmeno cercarlo, mi capita proprio una offerta di questo modello.Sarà stata la serie di coincidenze, decido di acquistarlo subito senza pensarci.In attesa della consegna mi assalgono di nuovo i dubbi di aver fatto l'ennesimo errore con un prodotto compatibile, ma ormai è fatta.Arriva il pacco e ho proprio la giornata libera, quindi decido di aprirlo subito.E piano piano tutti i miei dubbi iniziano a sparire, le recensioni erano tutte vere e oneste!Questa marca, Pantasy, è davvero un passo avanti a tutte e forse davvero poco dietro agli originali.Il manuale è bello, grande, stampato perfettamente, ottima qualità della carta, istruzioni fin troppo chiare e comprensibili.Inizio ad assemblarlo e i pezzi danno davvero un bel feeling e soprattutto si incastrano perfettamente, mentre con le mie precedenti esperienze (con altre marche) avevo sempre avuto grossi difetti di pezzi rovinati o che non si incastravano e cadevano.Quì tutto perfetto, dal primo all'ultimo pezzo.Altra nota positiva è l'enorme presenza di pezzi verniciati argento e anche alcuni color oro.Lego è tristemente solita mettere pochissimi pezzi di questo tipo.Quì invece si parla di centinaia di pezzi simili.E si potrebbe pensare che magari abbiano difetti di verniciatura visto il costo minore (che non significa super economico), invece sono tutti assolutamente perfetti senza sfumature diverse o altri difetti.La costruzione è molto interessante e spesso mi sono chiesto come siano riusciti ad immaginare un simile modello e realizzarlo così bene.Finito l'assemblaggio non resta che godersi il risultato finito:FANTASTICO!Dal vivo rende 100 volte di più che in qualunque video o foto.E se si è utenti un pò più attempati che si sono interessati a questo modello in ricordo del cartone animato di quando eravamo bambini, beh.....
