It's NOT the Superfriends version but it's still a great figure!
I've been looking forward to the many releases of SUPER POWERS by McFarlane and he doesn't disappoint. I was a collector of the original Kenner Line back in the 80s and even though I loved it back then, I was always perplexed and annoyed that we didn't get too many villains except of the Darkseid variety. It's ultimately what killed the line I think. But I digress...As a huge Superfriends fan (especially the CHALLENGE episodes that featured the heroes fighting against the Legion of Doom), I am so thrilled to add Sinestro to my collection along with Black Manta (which was extremely hard to find, but that's a story for another day). The figure is pristine and extremely accurate... comic book accurate however. This figure is billed as the "Superfriends" version but it's not. Sinestro, as he appeared on the cartoon, was colored differently. What's depicted as black here was navy blue on the cartoon. How he's depicted in figure form is how he appeared in the comics (as well as in Bruce Timm's JLU). It's a small discrepancy but a discrepancy nonetheless. Given McFarlane's penchant for repaints, this is one time I hope we get another version of Sinestro with Superfriends cartoon color accuracy. Regardless, if that never happens, I'm happy with this figure and hope we get more Legion of Doom members, including the females Giganta and the Cheetah. I'd also like an actual Hall of Doom playlet that's, again, cartoon accurate and big enough to house all 13 villains... think it'll ever happen? We can only hope. A+++
