This isn’t a heavy duty safe, but it will deter the grandkids from getting into things that I don’t want them to be into. It’s a small size and I have it hidden deep in the closet. You need batteries for this. The key works fine. You can set your own code and if you choose one that is good enough to confuse the kids, you’re set. You can actually fit a lot of papers in this and some jewelry. I’m extremely happy with my new little safe. If you are traveling it will fit in your suitcase. I highly recommend getting this safe. I give it my two thumbs up.

This isn't heavy duty, but for a small safe/lockbox this does a great job. It looks good and locks well. It is easy to program and you can use a code from 3-8 digits long, which means there are so many options someone would have to guess at that it would take them forever to guess. The keys open it so you want to make sure they are secure somewhere else. I fit 3 items about the size of small handguns and they fit by standing them up. You can bolt this down through the back or the bottom. It takes 4 AA batteries for the keypad to work. Overall a good safe/lockbox for the price that looks good and functions well.

My girlfriend has two kids, and especially wanting to keep some items from a toddler grabbing it, this safe box did the trick. A bit small, kinda like a hotel closet safe, I would call this more of a lock box, but it fits well on a dresser, and keeps valuable loose items or things you wouldn't want a kid to grab at out of view and safe. We did have to use our own batteries, as setting a code with the included ones weren't working well, but after pin pad worked well.

So I was skeptical about this mini safe, but it actually works pretty well. It’s fairly durable and sturdy. The directions for the keypad are easy to understand. I put in an 8 digit code and it opened it with no problems. You can choose between 3 to 8 numbers for your code. I also opened it with the actual keys with no issues either. I mean this isn’t a safe for extremely valuable items, and you can only fit certain sized items in the safe. This would be great for small pieces of jewelry, credit cards, cash, checks, keys, folded important documents, and maybe a small handgun/bullets. The keypad takes 4 AA batteries and it comes with wall mounts. So you could put it in the wall and hide it behind a picture. This little guy exceeded my expectations.

This safe isn't so much a safe as a good old fashioned deterrent. The back metal housing on the sides that aren't the door are quite thin, and with the safe being so very small and light it can be carried away by a would be burglar. Even if mounted, a good pry bar would no doubt cause the screw heads to pop right through the thin metal housing. So if you're concerned with that aspect, maybe use some thicker gauge washers with good anchors to minimize the chance of it walking away. That said, it's a great safe to keep the casual snooper out. I'd not put my life savings in it, but throwing some items you don't want your kids to touch in it (such as edibles) is a great idea.
