Gentle on the gums and cleans well

Very gentle on gums

Great for people who have badly worn teeth. I have been using Dr. Collins Terrier for many years but this new tooth brush of his is worth every penny!

I like the soft bristles, but they seem to be packed too densely to work down between teeth like the original Perio brush bristles do. And the handle - I really hate it. It's very round, making it impossible to hold the brush in the desired position. I bought a 12-pack of these, thinking "I love the Perio brush, I'm sure to REALLY love the Ultra" but I'm going to donate the remaining 11 of them and go back to the original.

Over the last 5 years, I've (in succession) purchased the original Perio toothbrush, the Perio Extreme, and this Perio Ultra. Not only have I found Perio toothbrushes to be better than what's on the market- especially what I can get locally- but, as I've moved through the product line, the experience keeps getting better.Sure, you can read why it's better in the product description, but, as a user, here's what I can tell you.1. The ergonomic handle is easier to hold and feels better in your hand; moreover, the brush is not angled, so it doesn't throw off your brushing movements.2. The bristles are soft, but, due to the number of bristles, you don't have to brush harder to get a good clean feeling (so you don't end up irritating your gums).3. The brush head is a little larger than both of the other Perio toothbrushes (and, presumably, most "regular" manual toothbrushes), so it does take a few uses to adjust your brushing routine.

I ordered 1 PERIO Extreme here on Amazon; and to my pleasant surprise, I found a free sample of this Perio ULTRA version in the same box. I have only used Nimbus Compact for the past 7-10 years and consider it to be—by far— the World's Ideal toothbrush. However, I am VERY impressed with the "Nimbus-like" design of this ULTRA toothbrush—and more importantly—its bristles are even (actually 'much') softer than a Nimbus...so if your gums are very sensitive and demand "kid glove tender loving care" treatment—this is your guy. I haven't even opened the EXTREME Perio that I originally ordered, and have fallen in love with the ULTRA. Mind you, if you're looking for a deep, stiffer, rubdown of your gums and scrub-fest for your teeth's surface...this is not that brush.
