A convertible patch cable.
We use fiber patch cables and duplex cables to connect media converters.The patch cable reverses transmit and receive. The duplex cable does not.We only need transmit and receive reversed at one end. Not both ends.By putting patch cables at both ends, transmit is talking to transmit and receive is talking to receive. That does not work.This product is one of a very few that will allow you to separate the ganged pair and convert it from a patch cable to a straight thru jumper cable. This is vital to dealing with a pair of media converters...
