I have two older trucks with upgraded stereos. They both now have the Alpine ILX-W650 Digital Media Receiver installed which offers wired Apple CarPlay support.These trucks are not my daily drivers. They are work trucks where I might spend hours behind the wheel depending on the job.I use CarPlay to play my vast music library, Apple Maps for guidance, and Siri to manage occasional texting and phone calls. Keeping my phone tethered with a cable can be a pain sometimes so I was hoping to go wireless.I ordered the autobox 2-in-1 Wireless CarPlay / Android Auto Bluetooth Adapter from Amazon to see if it would work with my Alpine receivers. Although this box supports both CarPlay and Android Auto, I don't have an Android phone, so I am only testing this for the Wireless CarPlay function of this product.Setup was easy. I plugged the adapter into the USB-A port that goes to my Alpine receiver. It showed up as AutoKit_ED4 under my Bluetooth settings (the 3-digit number will vary). I accepted the connection on my iPhone and everything began to work as well as it did when wired.There is also an option to upgrade the firmware over the air with my cell phone. I connected to the Autobox Wi-Fi with my iPhone. Then opened a browser and entered 192.168.50.2 (as a web URL). That brought up the setup screen. I selected "Check Update" and watched it download and then install the update. After a reboot, everything was working again as expected.I just spent some time in the truck listening to tunes with Wireless CarPlay. No problems.I'm calling this autobox Wireless CarPlay Adapter a winner!

Truck recognized Autobox, iPhone recognized bluetooth. But Autobox would not complete connection. Indicator on Autobox kept flashing blue. Restarted Iphone, restarted truck waited, unplugged and reconnected Autobox. Autobox never passed the blue connecting. Bypassed Autobox with USB cable and CarPlay displayed.

This is the second wireless android Auto adapter I've tried, and by far is it superior. Connection to the car takes seconds, there's no random disconnections, and setup was done in under a minute. I've been using it for 3 days now, and it's been so much better than the older, cheaper one I had. If you want an adapter I'd definitely grab this one, it's more expensive but it's 100% worth it.
