I’ve been very pleased with my Neewer iPhone cage and its versatility, and the new Backplate for attaching 37mm mounted lenses and filters makes it even more so. The Neewer cage for iPhone Pro and Pro Max comes supplied with 67mm screw-in and 18mm screw-in filter backplates, with this one, the 37mm backplate, being an optional accessory.Besides that, between the cages two included backplates and this optional one, almost any mobile phone lens from most manufacturers can be attached to the PA024 and PA023 cages. Neewer mentions Beastgrip’s assortment of available mobile phone lenses as ideal companions to this backplate, however their available 37mm filters, as well as those of other manufacturers, also bring added creative control over mobile phone videography and photography. Keep in mind also that many other filter sizes are made available, including those you may already own, by using 37mm to XXmm step-up rings. Adding and removing the backplate is a cinch thanks to the push-in system Neewer uses for attaching and detaching them. Two spring loaded ball bearings mounted in the cage, one on either side of the plate, fall into detents on the back of the plates when they are slid into position. When removing the backplates, just push down and slide them out. Switching between plates, and consequently filters and lenses, is quick and simple; no tools are necessary.If you have either of the Neewer cages for the iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max and plan to use 37mm mounted filters and/or lenses, or Beastgrip’s high quality assortment of lenses, this is the accessory to have. It’s also a much cleaner attachment and holds a lens or filter more precisely in place than a clip or screw on clamp. The Neewer 37mm Thread Lens Backplate for iPhone is a nifty gadget for enhancing mobile photography. It's impressively compatible with a range of lenses, turning my phone into a more versatile camera. The quick-release feature is super convenient, letting me switch between lenses without a fuss. It's solidly built, although a bit niche—make sure you have the compatible gear before getting this one. It’s definitely elevated my photo game, giving me that professional edge when I’m on the go.

This Neewer lens plate is designed to go with their PA023 cage for the iPhone 15 Pro. If I put a B+W circular polarizer on it, the total weight, including the titanium iPhone 15, adds about 70% more weight to the bare iPhone. The plate is designed to block out the other lenses and rely on the prime lens because of its more superior imaging capabilities. If you want a wider angle shot, you'll have to remove the plate to expose the extra wide lens, or you attach a wide angle lens on top of the prime lens. I find the entire assembly quite solid and the added weight to be acceptable. I'm contemplating on purchasing an anamorphic lens for this plate to try out the cinematic aspect ratio. The reason I give this set up a 4 star rather than 5 is because there are more solid frames out there that are more secure with less freeplay, but they tend to be heavier and more expensive. The Neewer assembly is good enough for polarizers and ND filters for sure.

I’ve been accumulating NEEWER gear for the past few years because it’s good stuff at a (usually) great price. This adapter snaps perfectly onto my NEEWER cage and from there the filters thread on normally. I just used it to take eclipse pictures. Everything worked great. Not much can be said other than it’s good quality, works without drama, and meets expectations.

I’ve been experimenting with lenses on my iPhone camera. While this is made for a different phone and case, I was able to modify it pretty easily and epoxy it to an old case I have. It works really well even though my craftsmanship is lacking.Mainly I’m glad to have this because this is a standard size for attaching filters and better lenses for a cell phone camera.Recommended
