Grand SlamMen's 9" Flat Front Golf Short with Expandable Waistband, Lightweight Stretch Fabric, Moisture-Wicking

Had 2 pair of older shorts from this company but one was ruined by paint and decided to replace.. Glad to see that the quality has not worsened over time. Material now more synthetic but also quick drying and lite weight. New issues also have an adjustable waist. People seemed turned off by Black Iris color and I therefore was able to purchase item for a great price. To wife and I color looks dark blue. Would purchase again.

This review is for the Grand Slam Men's Flat Front Golf Shorts with Expandable Waistband (Size - 29, Color - Sleet). I received a free taxable sample of these shorts to review in my search for a pair of comfortable shorts I could wear around town during warmer weather.The shorts weigh 218 grams and measure 14 ½” across at the waist with a length of 18 ½” and an inseam of 9”. As per the product tag, the shorts are made out of a lightweight 100% polyester fabric with a straight cut with leg openings about 9 ½” across. These shorts have a flat front and have a fairly standard cut about 1 ½” above the knee. The shorts also have an approximately 4 ¾” zippered fly with a YKK zipper running along small decent quality plastic zipper teeth.The interesting feature of these shorts is the expandable waistband which is basically two overlapping pieces of fabric on the exterior and inside of each side around the hip. These pieces of fabric have a small section of elastic at their ends which allow the shorts to comfortably extend about 1” on each side. The exterior pieces for the expandable waistband are cleverly and expertly sewn behind one of the seven belt loops, and the front pockets are cut in a way that the top inner openings can adjust with the fabric and not rip apart.Besides the expandable waistband, there are four convenient and good quality lined pockets - one on each side and two on the back. The front right pocket also has a small inner section at the bottom and the back pocket on the left cheek has a buttoned enclosure. An extra button is included on the inside tag and branding is limited to the fabric tag on the inside of the shorts and on the detachable paper product tag. Interestingly enough the brand name on the shorts differs from the “manufactured for” fabric tag on the inside.In terms of use, I like the light brushed feel of this fabric that gives it a soft and slightly natural fabric feel. The overall fit of the shorts is good although I would recommend either going with your true size or at most a little larger unless you enjoy a very snug fit. The shorts are reasonably breathable which has been great during the warmer weather, and I like that the care and maintenance can be handled through machine washing and drying. Quality and workmanship are also good with clean and straight stitching.All in all, this is a good quality pair of shorts with a nice cut and comfortable elastic waistband. I recommend this as a nice stylish shorts option you can wear during warmer weather.

Great fit and comfortable

This is a very standard flat-front golf short made from a lightweight performance fabric. The length hits at or ever so slightly above the knee, and the waistband has a small amount of give. The front is flat and a bit unforgiving if you have a bit more weight around your midsection - I prefer the look of a pleated front, myself - but if you're more of a flat build you'll find these to be cut to your liking.The material is quite standard for golf shorts but I'm not sure I'm in love with it - it's a little artificial and in some ways reminds me of cheap suit material in appearance but of a performance polo in feeling. There's a small amount of stretch in it but not a ton - most of the flex is in the waistband, and I actually feel these pulling in my groin area as I move on occasion due to the lack of pleating.The pockets gap a little bit for me, revealing the black mesh material inside. That's a little frustrating because the overall size is about right and I feel like if I sized up they'd be overall far too big.I think most of my complaints can just be summed up as "I'm not a flat-front performance golf shorts person". If you're not either, these won't change your mind, but if you're in the market for this style and material, they represent a great value and the sewing and construction is excellent.

I typically wear a 40" and got a 42 to be safe. they are still too small. nice materieal. just need to lose some weight

To say I have both put in 1000's of trips on the course, and been involved in the industry for decades is not an overstatement. As a result, I am well familiar with short ranging from $10 to $100+. These are a superb entry for their price point. Truly, they nailed it.For $25, you'll get a pair of pants that would easily sell in the Shop for $60, and not be disappointed. I think you'll have a fabric a step below the $100 designer, and the waistband will not be as "fitted". However, all in all, I wouldn't hesitate to take these onto any course, they are that nice.The fit is terrific, and thankfully, not hanging to me knees. The pockets are sizeable and entry is easy. They look and feel great. The fit is quite nice on its own, and I would definitely advise not to size up. If unsure, definitely size down. I have a 35" waist, and these being 34" fit wonderfully, with no need to use the "expanding waist". At the same time, the waist expansion is effective if need be, and just adds to comfort and allows a bit of room for uncurling the big dog.All told, I put these toward the top of the rotation. Great for golf, and all-around wear.

Based on my experience, sizing on this brand is usually considerably smaller than labeled.

This is the best golf shorts i bot from amazon, and i have bot 4-5 different golf shorts. No one is gonna bend down and look at the brand of shorts you are wearing anyway. Quality wise this is my fav one.
