Boom bap its not half bad
I like this game, it has a difficulty and yet enough in exploring the monkey ball franchise on such a limited machine. It can be forgiven for throwing you into alarming reactions alongside the higher learning curve and close distance drawing framewidth. The usual monkey ball extra's are here and a limited gaming style mix can lead you onto a greater course of tracks to let loose the monkey ball, not a story line or the overly complex generationing of a monkey ball standard blending and hardship, the mix is great and you can replay many of the stages for free with the boom baps of the bigger daddy on older consoles giving great background to this a simple yet pleasing enveloping of the better of the older of compact systems.

Small Screen Monkey Madness!!
Super Monkey Ball fans will be pleased to hear the format has translated excellently to the small screen. It's all here, mini-games and all!For those unfamiliar with the Monkey Ball concept, your task is quite simply to take control of a wee-monkey trapped inside a ball, and guide the little fella through each colourful tilting level without falling off the edge, trying to collect a few bananas on the way. Simple format maybe, bloody addictive definately. This will keep you hooked for ages I can promise you, and with over 60 levels to attempt, the lifespan of the game is excellent. But just in case, Infogrames have very kindly included four "mini-games" from the Gamecube version. Monkey Golf, Monkey Bowling, Monkey Fight and the Monkey Dual games are great inclusions. Each of these is opened as a reward for playing the main game, once you've racked up enough "play points". Believe me, after one or two sessions of the main game, you'll soon have these opened!Graphically it's certainly up to the standard we've come to expect of the GBA, that goes for the sound too. Not much of it, but what there is does the job. As with all games, the real key is in the playability, and this title has it in bundles. The control method does take a couple of plays to master, particularly for those used to the Gamecubes control pad. Don't let that put you off though. All in all, a very well presented, highly addictive GBA game which will appeal to gamers of all ages.

The most original GBA game yet!
I heard from a friend that he was getting Super Monkey Ball Jr and I burst out laughing. It sounded like one of those kiddy little unoriginal puzzle games. Boy was I ever wrong. When I purchased the game I was so pleased with my choice and I played it for days and days and days. There is over 60 levels (10 beginner, 20 advanced, and 30 expert), and I've only completed the beginners lot because the advanced lot are challenging! Okay. The game is very simple. You use the D-Pad to control a ball with a monkey in it around a floor and get to the goal at the end. Sound easy? This game is anything but easy. After the first ten beginner levels (mind you floor 10 on beginner is tough) the game really starts hotting up. There are obstacles, moving platforms, tilting platforms and loads more (though I'm not very far so how should I know whats to come!). Theres high-score tables, so you'll be encouraged to beat your own score over and over again! As you progress through the game, you unlock really cool mini-games to play with your friends. These include monkey duel, monkey bowling, monkey golf and monkey fight. Monkey golf is very hard aswell. If you get through all of the levels on a difficulty without using a continue, you get to play on extra levels which are much more difficult then it's predecessors. The graphics are great to and the 3D view really works well. The sound is cool but could be better, but the music is still good.Overall, this game rules and even if you hate puzzle games, you'll love this. A great game with great features. A must for anyone with a GBA(SP).

Frustration incarnate!!
This game will drive you mad and give you vertigo, and you'll keep coming back. I thought the controls would be a problem, but they are really excellent and you learn to master the fine tune and amplify buttons. The camera can be a pain but you do learn to cater for it as you play. The levels are excellent, with perfectly judged target times. The bonus games are good for a laugh, with monkey golf offering a slightly more sedate take on the whole idea.

absolute class (nearly)
Although it is quite a simple game, it is well worth getting. When you earn enough points, you can open up master mode, infinite continues and all the mini games. The 4 mini games keep you amused for ages and there are loads of levels and extra levels if you complete the main levels using no continues. It will save uyour records but if you get bored, you can reset all the data and complete it again. The game is well worth buying even if it's just to play monkey bowling!

Hey Jr, that's no way to treat a GBA!
An amazing amount of minigames have been included, such as Monkey Target and Monkey Billiards-and it all whizzes about the screen at a frightening lick of speed. Astonishing stuff. In single player, you can choose from Aiai, Meemee, Gongon and Baby-and you'll find an instantly recognisable world of tilting, chequered lawns and split-second battles against time and gravity. However, the real delights arrive when you realize you can multiplay wherever and whenever you like. You don't even need a link-cableand mates with other GBA's to double, triple of quadruple the fun. The music's also spot-on, with some of the heaviest bass i've experiencedon my headphones, and the sampling eerily accurate- right down to the giggles of Baby as you select her. All of which again begs the question: Why go with the kiddy-cute addition of 'Jr'? If there's any game that says 'advance', that says what the future of handheld games should be, it's this.

As Good As The Gamecube Version
I'd played this title on the Gamecube and so was eager to purchase it as soon as it became avaiable on the GBA, hoping it would be true to it's older brother's form. I was not disappointed. You start off with only the main game to play, but as you progress further you unlock mini games and extra tables, all of which are excellent. I was really impressed by the conversion from Gamecube to GBA, and if you love your ultra-playable arcade games...look no further. A must for anyone with a GBA and indeed anyone with an affinity to arcade hilarity.
