I bought two model 288 knives. they were sent loose without packing, so they were ruined. how was yours packaged? any issues, merchant recommendations

Mine arrived with cardboard folded across the blade and taped (this was the packaging from the factory) in a box roughly the dimensions of an A4 piece of paper (standard 8.5" x 11") and 2" deep with several air pillow packaging cushions (this must be a default size, I get a ton of items from Amazon in this box size w/ air pillows). I have ordered two styles of kiwi knives, the pointed cleaver (288?) and the veggie cleavers for a total of 6 knives. I've never had one arrive damaged.

How is the 288 different from the 488?

Does it have a full tang?

The tang stops about 5/6 of the way through the handle on this model I believe.

Is this knife thin and does it flex like the 171/172? Is it worth getting 488 instead?

Doesn’t flex that much,all kiwi knives are great value,easy to use ,just put them on a steel little and often keeps a good edge,hope this is helpful

Kiwi never disappoints

Kiwi is easily my top choice for their knives, def my favorite kitchen brand! Never disappoints. it comes razor sharp right out of the package & it's light weight. IT slices through produce better than any of my expensive knives that I have bought. 100. Honestly it's an unbeatable everyday workhorse for the price.
