Hallmark Card Studio 2005 Deluxe

after reading the mixed reviews with more people unhappy with this software, thought i would give this a try myself, i have an older windows xp computer, and this worked out just grand, had no problems installing the cd rom, setup in about 5 minutes. now onto what this does, you can print off labels, stationary, letters, and greeting cards galore for any holiday or anything you might need a card for, this also has blank cards as well, and you can also create photo cards too, cant wait to try that this year for christmas. i like having all the different cards to choose from and ''really love'' that i can customize what the cards say, if i dont like the greeting i can change or add my own greeting---sometimes i would see a card in stores, but did not like what the greeting said inside the card, and wished i could change the greeting, and now thanks to this i can. i like how the cards print out as well, very happy i got this, now i dont have to make an extra trip to any store to get last minute greeting cards, ive got them on hand, also love that it has the hallmark logo that prints onto the back of the card just like the ones you buy in stores, thats a great touch, that way people still know i cared enough to send them the very best.and one last thing i want to say is, i have seen these in the hallmark stores and online, and the price for a brand new one is very expensive and i would not chuck out 40 to 60 dollars which i think is way too overpriced for something like this, was very glad i found this one used in very good condition for only a few dollars.

I like having a card CD to make cards for whoever {except husband, he thinks I'm being cheap if I don't buy him one}. This CD was 5 year old but it was 1/3 of the price of a new one and I like it. You can get card paper and envelopes seperately. Sometimes you want to give a card to someone and it's not really an important date. You just make one. They look very professional and you can when ever you need one.

The third disc doesn't talk to the computer so I wait and get a message not responding. I call the software company. The gentleman said just send it back and they will send a new one. I took it to the postoffice and it cost me 1.74 and a jewelcase to send it back. I sent it March and got one back in May. Now I go through the job of uninstalling the first two disc because by it self no program came up to install it. I started reinstalling the software from the beginning and what do you know the third disc wasn't responding again. Now what do I do. This is expensive software but how many times do you keep sending back the 3rd disc and it still doesn't work.

Ok; First I have to inform you that I am not the primary user of Hallmark Card Studio(HCS) (I'm not even the secondary user..), my wife is. However when things don't perform on the computer as expected I'm the 'fortunate' one who fixes the problem, so I feel that I've got a good handle on the software in comparison to others.The good points about HCS are the excellent quality of the included graphics and somewhat in the ease of use. That sums up the good points. The issues that I feel break this program are the lack of options for printout and the poor to medium quality of the printouts, this in relationship to image alignment on the paper. In all cases my spouse was dissatisfied with the results. This is in respect to the 'four-fold' types of cards. Note that I feel the same way and would not consider sending the results to a friend.In regard to this take a look at the following two programs that also make cards, the first being CREATING KEEPSAKES SCRAPBOOK DESIGNER DELUXE (Surprise!). This program has impressed my spouse for its flexibility in creating cards in addition to scrapbook pages. Printout is as close to perfectly aligned on a page as you could expect. Graphics look better also although importing an image is not as intuitive as the other programs but not hard (just search for 'IMPORT' in the help file). Note that this program does not have the fantastic images that HCS does but there's an answer to that I'll address later.The second program is GREETING CARD FACTORY 4.0 Deluxe by Nova Development. Another good program with good printout, lots of graphics, but again not the quality of the graphic images included with HCS.I recommend looking at these two options BUT if you must have the quality graphics that HCS has, I believe that you can export JPG images of HCS graphics and simply import them into the others as needed. It's not the coolest way to make a great looking card, but for those who have already purchased HCS, it fixes all your woes.Courtney

i HAVE HALLMARK 2012 AND I HAD 2005 ON MY PREVIOUS COMPUTER........I WAS VERY DISSAPOINTED IN THE ART PROGRAM IN THE 2012 EDITION...THE 2005 EDITION HAD A MUCH SUPERIOR ART PROGRAM. M,Y INTENT IS TO MOST LIKELY CAN THE 2012 EDITION AND GO BACK TO THE 2005. UNFORTUNATLEY I GAVE AWAY MY 2005 EDITION BUT I INTEND TO PURCHASE IT OVER AGAIN. IT IS THE BEST.......BUY IT YOU WILL SAvE A LOT OF MONEY ON YOUR CARD PURCHASES...

This software is the best I have ever heard of or tried. I'm having a ball making cards for my friends and family special occasions. It is remarkably easy to use and it gives you the ability to change just about everything. My only suggestion to Hallmark is to issue a larger databank of selections to add the already extensive one that comes with the package. I have hundreds af friends and relatives on my list. This Christmas will be exciting, especially when I add photos to the cards.

Been a while but I still like the Card studio software. Had forgotten it doesn't automatically flip the card like newer software does. I do like the different cards and how easy it is to personalize almost anything you want. Older product, but still good.
