Reggae Gold ... rarely disappoints
Just as with Reggae Golds in the past, I think this album is fabulous. It's a better mix than last years, which relied heavily on the already hot tunes on popular radio. This mix displays the diversity in reggae, including some hard dancehall jams, softer lover dancehall, conscious roots with Natty King and Ritchie Spice, and -of course- the king of sweetness, Beres Hammond. I love the addition of a reggae mix of Alicia Keys' "You Don't Know My Name." I play this one all the time - it's good for waking up, going about the day, and end of the day smoothin down. It's a hot CD - with a few popular oft-played jams and a number from more unfamiliar artists. And four songs from female artists! Reggae Gold only gets better and better as far as I'm concerned and this is a super solid addition to the collection.

Good Listen
If you don't stay ontop of current danchall/reggae music and riddims then this cd is a must have. However if you often find your self knowing most of the hott tunes then, you could probably skip buying this cd. For me it seems a bit stale just because i've heard most of the songs for a long time now. I also think the mix cd that comes with this years cd could have been better. If nothing else i would say buy it just to support reggae music and help push it mainstream.

My two cents...
I sincerly like this CD...it has a way of always lifting me up especially on my way home from work. I love that it has club jumping and grinding music like ("in her heart", "ay ay ay", "anything goes") as well as some slow reggae songs eg "pride and joy" by Beres Hammond)...love that song! I especially love the songs "been so long" by lady saw and "can't breathe" by tanya stephens. I probably only knew about 4 of the songs on the CD...but I now like almost all of them. So, big ups to all dem producers! And off course 2 discs for the price of one..you can't beat that! Get it!

I Like this CD !! 2 CDS for the price of 1
I think that this cd is great, full of popular songs of reggae, plus they give us a second cd with remixes of some songs of the original cd. I recommend it for the fans of reggae!

You can't go wrong with Reggae Gold
Every year, I eagerly anticipate the release of the new Reggae Gold. VP records always includes the tightest new riddims and the most talented artists. Included also is a second cd with a Dancehall mix of all of the featured songs. IRIE!
