The images shown for this product are enhanced to make it look like you'll get more brilliance, more vivid color than you get with a "normal" glass crystal. You won't, you'll get the same color/brilliance that a normal, high quality glass crystal produces.That said, the color isn't bad!I have yet to get a larger color pattern than normal from the long crystal, either with artificial light or sunlight - however, we have had non-stop storms since I got the crystals, so I haven't gotten the chance to experiment with much direct sunlight. I have gotten larger color patterns from faceted teardrop shaped crystals. Look for an edit follow-up if further experimentation contradicts what I just stated.Finally, be careful when opening the box - the smaller crystal is just stuffed in there like an after-thought, while the longer crystal is nicely bedded in foam. I opened mine over a tile counter and the smaller crystal fell out, breaking a small chip off it. My mistake, but be warned.

This is a very solid and crystal clear prism set. Great for photography or just decoration. They both came in a very nice box that is padded and keeps them protected.

I really like these prisms, they are heavy and solid pieces that look nice as decoration. However I haven't yet gotten them to make an actual rainbow prism. Perhaps I need the sun at a different angle than the ones I've tried so far. I'm impressed they arrive without even a chip in them.

My students loved the effect that this provided. I sit it in our window in our classroom at an angle, and it lets in a strong stream of light. This is excellent for any classroom for calmness and relaxation, but it also goes well in science. This also would be great inside the home.
