My middle school students saw the book and were so excited because they have been waiting and frequently asking when the book would arrive. They had to wait until we finished reading Holes first though. When I read the book they were delighted -- lots of laughs and complete engagement and focus while I read the book, as always with this series. The entire series has encouraged my students to read and shown them how fun it can be to read. I personally liked this book and found it better than the last one. It also ends with a very exciting event, and I am almost certain the next book will be the best yet due to the craziness! I am so grateful for these books and Pig the Pug (Pugs are my favorite dog) which are both written by the same author. Pig makes a cameo in the first book!

We ordered these for our then 2nd grader during remote learning. She has read a few of her brothers books with assistance from us. However she began to read independently with these. That started her reading independently with real chapter books as well. These books are a great stepping stone from the short books for new readers . These books are like comic books so they are a shorter read and have lots of pictures. Again this helps a new reader stay engaged. Great books for 1st to 2nd grade. Again these were what really helped my 2nd grader learn to read and get a passion for reading. Highly recommend.

My son wasn't much of a reader, ( we had some problems getting him to read outside of class/ sometimes during class) even though he was reading above his grade level. Then I read reviews on this series.... I'm so happy!!! I bought the first 5 for Christmas for my son, he read them in 2 days!!!! I couldn't believe what I was seeing! I immediately went on Amazon and bought the rest of the series! There are 12 books (currently out) in this series and its becoming a DreamWorks movies. This series has jump started a love for reading and for books that every parent wants their kid to have.

My son is absolutely enthralled with the entire "Bad Guys" series. I began to read them to him last summer, and at age 4 1/2, he demands I read and reread them to him. He even tries to read them himself! It has really helped to excite him on the journey to learn how to read, and we love the series! I myself even enjoy them! There is some potty humor, but it doesn't bother me at all. Very HILARIOUS series and has a real plot to it! I recommend new readers read them in order.

My third grade nephew LOVES this series. He and I bonded over the first book and now I auto order each one as they come out. He likes the humor in them so much that he will often read parts out loud to me. I'm glad to say that I enjoy the story too. The humor I would say is about Pixar's Toy Story level (what I mean by this is, that there is usually a straight forward plot for younger kids and just enough fun word play or funny references in the background for older co-readers to spot). Reading level works for a strong reading second grader through fourth grade level. Also the message of "bad guys" trying to change their ways (akin to the sharks in Finding Nemo) is a generally nice one.

I got this for my sister to read to her students. The kids loved the book and it was worth it for the price. The words could be a bit better but i've seen much worse. The great thing is she has new students every year so she continue to read it to the kids and it won't get boring.She also uses these books so that the kids can learn to read. The books are very simple and the kids love it.

Really helped my daughter learn to read. She was addicted and read whole series. Could hear her laughing out loud. The humour got her to love to read.

My 6 year old has loved these books since she loves all the books of this series. We look forward to each new release in the series! They’re funny and clever and well written and illustrated.This series has easy to read, awesome pictures and lot of humor. My daughter loves to read the chapters and is a book for re reads as well.

Great entertainment for my 7-year-old son. Just the right mix of creepiness, slapstick and slime. Great illustrations as well, especially the shark in alien drag.
