Lucaffe Exquisit 150 E.S.E. Espresso Pods

I use a Handpresso for travel and home espresso. I prefer the no-mess ESE pods and Espressotiamo offers the best selection of ESE pods I have found. We started out with one of the sample packs from Espressotiamo. We tried 20 different roasts and beans from Italian pod producers. Many small roasters and varietals. We found the Lucacafe Exquisit to have the best combination of full-body without bitterness and a rich crema. While our favorite is the Lucafe Bluecasfe, the cost is a little more than we want to spent since we buy about 150 each month. ESE pods are not that popular in the North America (compared to Europe). It's too bad because these are fully compostable (unlike the Nesscafe or Kureg styles). I have found that some vendors do not move their inventory of ESE pods and that can result in dried-out packets. Espressotiamo iseems to be a vendor that has a loyal folowing and consitantly fresh inventory.

Of the pods, I like the Lucaffe the best - consistent robust, well-rounded flavor - very rich and satisfying. Just the ticket when I get lazy and do not want to deal with the mess.

I actually don't think this is a bad product and the Espresso tastes very good when the cup is finished brewing. However, my De Longhi, which admittedly is only the 100 dollar model, doesn't work well with these pods.I'm not sure why truthfully. Its almost as if the water can't penetrate the pods film. When I cut the pod and stamp it like you would fresh espresso it works fine.I'm working on figuring out if I need to "Smoosh" the bags in order to "break up" the espresso pod.Basically it comes out incredibly slow. Like ok I can't wait this long for a cup slow. The dripping is just barely there with these pods.When I use the bigger Cup provided by De Longhi it works well but I get excess water.So far smooshing up the pack and stamping it while sometimes getting it wet seems to work best.Not sure why.Anyways if it would make an easier cup I'd surely give it 5 stars.

Lucaffé pods give the best shots in my old Nuova Simonelli Jazz machine. Not too fast, not too slow, packed and dosed just right for good cream and flavor. I've tried a variety of their blends and am happy with the balanced flavor of this Exquisit.

I love the coffee, too! I have four espresso makers that use the ese pods so I thank heaven this vendor carries them. He is so helpful when I get into a kerfuffle about what kind to get and sends me samples to help me choose. He is my go to guy and is competitive with his pricing.

I was very disappointed when Starbucks stopped making their espresso pods, as it is one of my favorites. So, I've been in the search for something comparable. I have tried a variety of brands, most offering an average cup of espresso, but the Lucaffe brands continue to be the best choice. I like the Classic and the Exquisit, as they both have just enough Robusto to give it that extra kick, and a nice, thick crema. I have had my Francis Francis Machine for over 10 years, and these pods work wonderfully in it. If you haven't tried these yet, I would highly suggest it. They are as close to the caffe that I have had in many a bar in Italy.

Decent but off flavors, acidic and ultimately not great to drink. I’ve tried other types of Lucaffe pods, and have been satisfied with the quality, especially the black labeled style which is great. This simply isn’t very good, hardly exquisite—I’d return it if I could...

L avevo sentito in un ristorante e mi era piaciuto a tal punto da chiedere la marca del caffè così ho pensato di ordinarlo ,niente a che fare con quello,infatti è pure diversa l etichetta pur essendo lo stesso tipo "esquisit",forse dipenderà dalla macchinetta del caffè non professionale ,ma fa proprio c....e
