Lots of great info, maybe too much
My only complaint is that this book is very dense for young children.

Inaccurate and incomplete depiction of Vaisakhi
I was looking for a book to share with my young son that appropriately represents the meaning of Vaisakhi. This is NOT it! It is very one dimensional and ignores the significance for Sikhs. Very disappointed. Instead, I bought “The Story of Vaisakhi” by Ishpal Kaur. Ps- who eats Saag April- clearly the authors have never been to Punjab 🙄

Connects you to your culture. Highly recommend.
We are Punjabi’s and can’t express enough how this book helped us to explain about the Festival of Vaisakhi and it’s importance. Kids could easily connect with Bhangra after reading this book. My kids love every book of Maya and Neel series. One more addition to our library.

Great way to learn about another culture!
This book has lots of interesting information about the holiday and is written in a way that kids will find easy and fun to read or listen to. The illustrations are great with lots of bright colours. They go really well with the story. It is a wonderful way to learn how other people celebrate their holidays.

Beautiful and engaging, with a wealth of information
Let’s Celebrate Vaisakhi! is the latest Maya and Neel adventure, this time exploring a joyful spring harvest festival from the Punjab state in India. Fans of Maya and Neel won’t want to miss this latest adventure into the rich traditions of South Asian culture! Punjab, which borders Pakistan, is known for its large Sikh population, so Let’s Celebrate Vaisakhi! features a section on Sikhism as well as information about the food and dances associated with Vaisakhi. As always, the illustrations are so beautiful and engaging, and the wealth of information is presented in a way that is easily understood by young readers. I love how there is an emphasis on the natural world of the region and how it is showcased in the various aspects of the Vaisakhi festival.*I received a complimentary copy of this book for review purposes; however, all opinions are my own.*
