Centerfolds is the comprehensive collection of stories from the iconic women of PlayboyTM Magazine as told by the real girls next door and the photographers who made them famous. Charlotte Kemp was Playboy's Miss December 1982 and Playboy's cover model October, 1983, also appearing in many ads and calendar photos for Playboy. She was the first Playmate ever given a License for "The Playboy Running Team" in 1993 and had 10 Playmates on the team who successfully raised money for many charities. Her first book was For My Eyes Only, which includes poetry, prose and short stories. During her working years with Playboy she had the first title of "Miss Budweiser," "The Best Breasts in the USA" and has several commercials and movies she has starred and appeared in, including a top 25 B Horror films of all time, "Frankenhooker." She has appeared on Inside Editon, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and many radio and regional radio shows all over the country. She has appeared in fourteen foreign editions of Playboy and lived for a period of time at the Playboy Mansion. Review: A Great collection of stories - I enjoyed it very much. I am glad She wrote it and shared those stories. It is a super quick, relaxing and fun read. The stories are very conversational, it seems like you are right by Charlotte Kemp listening to those stories with her. Twenty models and five photographers tell their stories. There are a few pictures -- many of these models could still model -- they have kept the magic they have always had. Unlike other books about Playboy this is more about the models -- it is neither promoting the brand or bashing it. By learning these stories I think I got a better picture of those days than any other source I could find other than a time machine. Many of the stories you have heard about are true. The models talk openly about how they met and what they did and not do. It all comes out as someone shares a story, not to sell a book. I highly recommend it. Review: Work and Play - This was a series of small stories from center folds about their times at the mansion. The legendary stories about orgies and baccnalia were true. The women slept with celebrities and there was drugs. The magazine was a different story. The ten pictures that made a spread took several sessions. There were multiple tests and scenarios. In the end, it was an interesting read about the work and the play involved.

Centerfolds befdore it seemed like evryone in on public media
If you grew up in the sixties through eighties the woman in Playboy were stunning. No internet where everything is available. For high class beautiful women Playboy was it. Some of the interviews are sobering as not all the things that were associated with Playboy were always good. It appears in at least some cases sleeping with Hugh Hefner led to being a centerfold. Hefner portrays himself as a feminist not in this book.If you want a glance at a simpler time where being a Playmate was something special or you remember these woman the book will be worth reading.

Centerfolds is a wonderful collection of moments and memories shared by some former ...
When I received Centerfolds, I had just gotten home from work. I'll just read a few pages before getting dinner. Fast forward a couple of hours or so, I'm sitting there with a Bic lighter reading about Arny's adventures in Mexico. Hadn't even stopped to turn on a light. Centerfolds is a wonderful collection of moments and memories shared by some former Playmates and photographers. The women, the 'girls next door', belong to a very exclusive sorority. These glimpses are sometimes funny, some a little scary, but all very entertaining. The stories read as if the Playmates were sitting across from you, recalling their memories. Kudos to Charlotte Kemp for a fantastic job of collecting their stories. There are notes from her throughout the book as well as her own memories. I imagine there must be a lot of work involved with putting something like this together, but I hope she's up for a Centerfolds 2. Thanks, Char!

Centerfolds Bares It All
This book is even more interesting now that Playboy's announced that it's doing away with nudity. But the book's not so much about posing nude, but more about life as a centerfold. Numerous centerfolds tell their stories about how they became centerfolds, and about life with Hugh Hefner on the Mansion. Some stories are really funny. There's some sadness. There's weirdness with Bill Cosby and some strange goings on. But there are no regrets expressed by the women. What strikes you most about the book, actually, is the sense of family that the women have with each other. There's a closeness and a fondness for each other that I didn't expect. It's a quick read, and it leaves the reader really wanting to hear some more of the stories.

Interesting at first, then repetitive.
Meh! Repetitive and after a few stories kind of self-serving. It is a pretty full description of the Playboy Mansion, which seems so weird now. In the sixties, it was thought to be avant garde. Now seems like a lot of dirty old men and naive young women.

Good but needed some editing.
Kudos to Charlotte Kemp, Miss December 1982, for gathering all the memories of the Playmates, other models and photographers covered in this volume. The texts and photo captions could have used some more thorough editing, but considering how much of this information came from the oral reminiscences of the subjects, some of whom were deceased, and Ms. Kemp seemed to be rushed into getting this published, not a bad work overall.

Charlotte Kemp has really captured the true & honest stories ...
Charlotte Kemp has really captured the true & honest stories of many Centerfold Playmates! It is so interesting to read about what led the ladies to try out for the Centerfolds & their experiences and stories are all written in their own words. Centerfolds are the Icons of Playboy & The Playmates included several stories about celebrities including OJ Simpson, Bill Cosby, Tom Cruise, Robin Williams and so many more. The book is really hard to put down! We want more & more!
