Since computers and lap tops don't come with cd players any more this was an inexpensive option. Works great just from the usb slot without adding additional power cord. Highly recommended.

This CD burner is very light and minimalist. It's thin, and it can store easily inside a laptop bag. Since most laptops now sorely lack a DVD player, a portable option is a good alternative. This portable one fits the bill and it's also affordable.

I have both a PC and laptop but neither can play or read discs. In the case of the laptop, it was manufactured with out a disc drive and my PC drive no longer works. Until picking this up, I could no longer watch any of my DVDs or review photos saved to disc. We love taking the lap top on vacations and watching movies in the back seat, a necessity with kids on long trips, and this answers this need.I am not super tech savvy on all the option, bells and whistles this might have. I know it offers versatility with multiple operating systems. It worked fine on ours, both with my Windows 8 and 10 OS and my son's PC Windows 11. It was easy to use, plug and play and was fairly quick in reading the discs.I think the drive looks slick with the top carbon fiber like skin and is minimal size not requiring much space which I really appreciate. It is decently light.This disc reader also offers two USB B slots and what appears to be a USB B super slot as well. Additionally, a SD Card slot can be found on the side. It comes with a USB B super cable with variable USB B or C ends to fit multiple items.Overall, this worked for exactly what I needed it too. I really appreciate the basic drive which is light and small enough to stow in my work back and take with me as needed whether on work of play trips. At the present price of $19.99, I feel this is with in fair market value.

This is a very generic drive. The manufacturer also cheaped out on the manual.Pros: It works. The USB ports work. The SD card reader works. They did include the microSD adapter. The main cable is not hard wired or proprietary. There is a secondary power-only cord.Cons: There are only 2 USB ports instead of 4 promised. Those ports are short as well, leaving some of the jack outside, creating impression they are not fully plugged in and possibly leading to destruction from continuous attempts to fix the issue. Furthermore it feels like the guts of the drive are a bit misaligned as using any ports and SD card reader involved way too much physical force.

External dvd drives are handy for that occasional CD/DVD that you need to read with your computer that has the latest and greatest Nvidia GPU but not a optical drive. This one tags on a card reader and USB hub and on paper looks like a great product. However it is NOT a blu ray drive as the misleading product description claims. It also came with multiple USB cables although it seems to work with just the USB 3 cable. The drive occasionally would "disappear" from windows device manager so I'm not sure it's a high quality product.

The media could not be loaded. So nice to have a cd/dvd drive again. I still have things on hard media. This one works well and is pretty quiet. Lightweight and portable. It actually looks really nice too!
