Sturdy and priced well. Works and the light is helpful in dim areas. Accurate and easy to use for use. Would buy again and portability is easy as well.

Despite user reviews of the tip falling off, I didn't have that problem - but I'm careful how I pull the protective plastic guard off and how I wash it. The speed is very good, easy to read display, has lighted LCD which be turned on and off, has both F & C, and I found it to be durable. I call it my "perfect chicken maker." No more over cooked rubber chicken breast. No matter how you cook boneless, skinless chicken breast, grill, on a stovetop, etc., just pull it at 150F, let it sit a few minutes, and perfect, moist, tender, chicken breast.

It really is an instant read thermometer. I am tired of guessing if my chicken is done or my steak medium rare when for a few bucks I can have a thermometer quickly answer those questions. I like the magnet too. I store it in the side of my microwave so it's right there when I need it.This is one item that exceeds my expectations. The temperature range is huge! I can turn it on to measure the temperature in my kitchen, lol. And I've used it to cook sugar to the crack phase.I thank all those who previously reviewed it too. I agree with all of the positive feedback given. It is a great addition to my kitchen tools that has already paid for itself by saving me from overcooking chicken, fish, steak and candy! Don't frustrate yourself by guessing when a few bucks will buy you this great little tool.

Very accurate. A very good purchase.

Most people use these thermometers for cooking purposes, I’ve used both the units I purchased to clip into my car so when I get into it during the summertime here and extremely warm sunny Florida, I can make sure that I have all the windows down and doors open until it comes down to a bearable 90°F in the car. I have had one other of this model and brand thermometer in my truck and it definitely helps you gauge how hot it is inside the cab. These are spot on and temperature maybe plus or -2°, which is not a big deal.

Unit is pretty nice. Probe is pretty solid, backlight is pretty good also. Item as described. Magnet on back side is a nice touch. I keep it attached to side of fridge, when not in use, so easy to find. And when out on the BBQ, I keep it attached to on of the side shelves.Did the ice bath test to check accuracy of calibration and on the low end, instead of 32.0°F mine read 32.9°F. Boiling water test I got 211°F (keep in mind it can vary slightly depending on your altitude, ambient pressure, etc..). For my use, it is close enough. I'll check it every so often and see if it drifts, and if it holds its calibration. For now, it is a great value.

Unfortunately I have been through many kitchen thermometers. No-one seems to have figured out how to build one which survives the tough kitchen routine. This one definitely belongs to the nicer ones I have used. It has a large, backlit display which is easy to read, a thin measuring tip for fast responses, a longer than average probe, and a lovely magnet on the back so I "hang" it to any metal surface. On the downside it's not waterproof, and cannot be calibrated. It looks sturdy, let's see how long this one lasts...

I haven't had any issues with this thermometer. It works great, easy to use. I do wish the prong was a bit longer, but for the price I'll take it.

Easy to use but temperature reading is slow to update, after inserting into the meat it can take awhile for the number to increase and show the existing temperatureit will continue to increase in small increments for 10-30s before finally leveling off
