Q: Can the seals for the battery compartment be bought separately for this item ? My last counter just died from water getting inside

As I understand from another purchaser, as long as you replace the battery compartment carefully and secure it tightly, it is waterproof.

Q: Does tHis count Pool laps accurately and if you mix strokes?

Yes it does, it has a one simple button which you press at the end of each length. You can therefore mix strokes as much as you like.

If the 4 screws and gasket are correctly replaced after putting in a new battery, your waterproof seal will be maintained and you should have no issues with water ingress. It is a simple process involving a small screw driver, 4 screws and a plastic gasket. Any jeweller should also be able to do this for you.

Q: does it keep the time as well as number of laps?

No just laps but I find it very useful
