Great story
This was a fun read and good story. It pulls you in. I spent time lost in the story when I should have been working , lol. Excellent job as always, Mr. Dalzelle.

Great space opera with excellent character development
This review is for the entire trilogy. I recently re-read the entire trilogy after having read the books piecemeal as they were released. The series has held up well and is a pleasure to read. The entire Black Fleet series is a classic space opera with a good balance between an exciting storyline and the development of the characters. The storyline centers on space combat, but includes political intrigue and events taking place on the ground and aboard spacecraft.Like other books from authors like Dalzelle and Richard Fox, the Expansion Wars trilogy is a refreshing change of pace from some sci-fi series (*cough* Disney’s Star Wars *cough*) that have gone overboard with the political correctness and social justice agenda. While many of the central players are rough, competent male characters that are hard not to admire, Dalzelle also presents them as multifaceted individuals with strengths, weaknesses, and a character arc.For example, Wolfe is externally typecast by others as either a derring-do rule breaker or a hero, but that’s not how he sees himself. While he’s a competent, take-charge guy, he’s not perfect, and he’s hard on himself, and sees himself as having been more lucky than good. There are also enjoyable storylines and development of supporting characters, e.g. a Marine NCO fighting on the ground behind enemy lines, and a starship captain who struggles through gripping fear and cowardice to eventually emerge as someone who does his duty. The lead female character, Celesta Wright, is imminently likeable too. Unlike some other sci-fi series, Wright isn’t presented to advance a political agenda, and there’s little in the way of sexual or romantic subplot. Instead, she’s just a competent person, like Wolfe, albeit with her own internal struggles and uncertainty. The overarching storyline is well thought-out and a good hybrid between the more “first person shooter” style of the Omega Force series and, say, the “space combat chess” of Jack Campbell’s Lost Fleet series.Definitely recommend if you’ve enjoyed other books by Dalzelle, or by Richard Fox.

A thrilling chase of a second trilogy
I have found each book in this series to be unique in the type of story being told. Like those before it, Destroyer expands on the possibilities and provides twists I would never expect from the more iconic sci-fi series. This book evolves the storytelling organically, so it isn't just more starship battles, but includes quite a bit of intrigue.Loved it.

I love this series!!
Another amazing book. As much as I like Wofle I'm glad the story doesn't just center around him. Adding more characters and seeing things from there point of view adds so much more to the story. One more thing I'm happy about is that the humans aren't the top of the pecking order. Their are other's out there like the Vhuran that are more powerful and the humans have to learn how to navigate that. Can't wait for the next book this author is amazing!!

RGaeke review of Destroyer / Dalzelle
Re-read a few years after, remains great military SciFi to this jaded consumer. Great characters in heroic binds, uplifting, satisfying.

Excellent conclusion
As in most war book, a lot pf space ( no pun intended) filled with repetitious battle movements. You only have so many up, down, port, starboard, and rolls. It feels a lot of pages. Not much for the story line however. Much loke an Bourne movie. Seems to be significant demand for these whom ever the author.

A great finish to the career of Captain Jackson Wolfe.
Four and a half stars. It is a rare thing in this age of independent authors cranking out trilogy after trilogy, or endless series of books to find a third book on a trilogy that can stand on its own. Is the story better for having read the first tow books, definitely, but you don't nee to have read them to understand and enjoy what is going on.Dalzelle does a terrific job of filling in details from the earlier portions of the storyline without going into pages of repetition. It seems this has become a lost art with todays authors. The story is a good blend of drama and action. There is development of the existing characters and new characters to fill out the "next generation". Old enemies become new again and the fields of battle (both literal and political) change drastically. A great finish to the career of Captain Jackson Wolfe.

Good book
There is plenty of action, drama, space battles and enemies of earth to go round. Are politicians really so inclined to bury their heads?

Outstanding sci-fi action continuing a great series
Really enjoyed this book, an great installment to an already excellent series. I feel Joshua just gets better and better at his storytelling. This one is faster, has more action and spends time with characters you've grown to love in the previous books. There's quite a few memeroable scences that really stick in my mind, I won't spoil anything!. The feeling of tense build up to critical moments is done really well. I'm looking forward to the next series, I just wish they would come out quicker!.

Fun story
It has a good flow and a fun plot. The background story could be a little more fleshed out looking at the players in the Tsuyo corporation a bit more but otherwise a fun and engaging story

4 star Space combat very enjoyable
In my opinion, Joshua Dalzelle continues to be the most Credible writer in this Genre available in Kindle. The books in This series about Space warfare during human expansion into space are very well laid out, consistent and disciplined. However, i hope this volume is not the begining of a trend towards errors and loss of grip on the little science there is. Grammatic errors are noticable even to me(my English is middling), Reactionless drives and G forces ? enuff said.Anyway, the plot and the combats are well realised, and it was an enjoyable read over a few stttings. The little things aside, this little volume is superior to most of the Dross I have bought on kindle over the last couple of years, 4 stars
