Good Controller
Better than the standard Xbox controller due to the hall effect sticks

Great controller at a sensible price
Very well made, nice weight, very good sticks and decent d-pad. I find I actually prefer this to the official X-Box controller.

Great controller that SUPPORTS the Switch
I loved the colour and watched a few video reviews all praising the 8bitdo Ultimate controller, including its dock. After doing hefty searching online, I found out how to connect it to the Switch. You need to switch on "Pro Controller Wired Communication" from "Controller and Sensors" in System Settings, then plug in the included receiver dongle. Finally, you need to press and hold 'minus' + 'LB' together until your Switch shows it has paired with the controller. I had it on 'X' input from the toggle switch on the back of the controller. Ignore the fact 'Switch' isn't mentioned, nor the lack of Bluetooth. This controller is definitely 100% compatible with the Switch. I've also tried it on the original and OLED models too. The latter through a 3rd party dock.

Using on PC. Very happy so far.
I've been using Microsoft's own controllers for a few generations now and they've began to fail me a short while (about a year) after purchase and some of them have had imperfections when I've bought them. So I've embarked on a journey to see if I can get a decent controller that's not over £100. I feel this should be achievable. And indeed, it is, or seems to be. This is a nicely made controller that feels solid and is responsive and easy to use. The triggers feel a bit like Playstation triggers, the sticks are world class and feel perfect right now, as good as any other controllers I've tried, and I've tried them all. The buttons are about as good as the standard Series X controllers and I've no complaints. The bumpers are an aquired taste perhaps but they certianly have a confident feeling actuation and shouldn't break easily (like my S/X controller(s) did. The Dpad is easily the worst feature, there's no way i'd play Street fighter on this, a reasonably demanding 2D platformer might well be fine though. It is perfectly usable in menus and such, but it just feels naff. The controller comes with a stand featuring a charging light, which I've found handy and overall I'mjust really pleased with it, it feels like a smart purchase. I'm playing Wukong with it now and it's easily good enough for that. It's a cute little thing too.

"Apple compatibility" needs a much larger asterisk
Subjectively, it's a bit small and the buttons a bit mushy for my comfort.Objectively, getting it to work on macOS is a pain in the bum. I gave it a solid try, but ended up returning the thing. I got as far as the home button opening the macOS task switcher, but not a single one of my Steam games recognised the controller at all. I'm not saying the mappings were wrong; the buttons just didn't do anything. Oh, and the 2.4G dongle isn't supported in macOS at all, so you're stuck to either Bluetooth or cable -- so you may as well get a much cheaper option anyway!

Good specs, disappointing build quality
The media could not be loaded. The hall effect joysticks are nice, the paddles on the back are great, buttons all feel nice similar to a classic Xbox 360 controller.Sadly the dpad is pretty abysmal, it doesn't sit properly in the controller shell and it can be heard rattling whenever you pick up the controller, move a little bit, or when you use the dpad. I've ordered 3 of these controllers thinking it must just be me being unlucky and every single one had the same issue. The shape is also kind of weird, it's very square shaped which makes me think it was designed more to look good on the dock than actually be comfortable to use, this might be something you can get used to over time though.Overall, I can't really recommend just due to the build quality of the dpad.
