EDSYNUS140 Universal SOLDAPULLT

I tried to order the cheaper knock-off for 5.99 which has excellent reviews, but it kept getting delayed and weeks later still wasn't being shipped. Of course it was a Chinese clone, but I wanted to check it out and see if the reviews were accurate since the other knock-offs have quite a few complaints and the price for a 4.8 star product at only about a third the total cost of this seemed too good to be true. in any case you can't do better than the original Edsyn 100% AMERICAN product. I called the company before ordering and the phone was answered by a family member of the founder on the THIRD RING and the shipment went out the next day. We MUST support businesses that continue to manufacture in the US and provide old-fashioned customer service. Every one we preserve will serve as an example to all the rest. Go EDSYN!!

This is the best desoldering tool you can buy on the market. It is effective, robust and durable.

Works great has great suction. But I miss my old one that had a separate release button this one has it as part of the plunger mechanism and it hits you during the release process you have to position just right to avoid it. Seems a bit of an oversite in the engineering.

It's not quite as powerful as the full size model, but pretty dang close. Fits into a small bag, with single handed operation, and lasts for years.

Ive had "cheaper" bargain basement de-soldering tools that worked fairly well, but sometimes took a couple times to get the pad or joint clean. Not the Edsyn Soldapullt. Smooth action and cleans the joint almost every time. On older solder joints re-heat with just a pinch of fresh solder before you use the tool. Solder braid certainly has its place, but this tool is my go to solder removal tool.

I've been using it for a little over a year now, and while first impressions were great, using it multiple times over flux has clogged it to the point where it doesn't click the same as it used to. The suction was bad unless I have the lever all the way to the top, and that kills the point of the "Universal" name. I wanted to open it so i could thoroughly clean it, but besides moving the tip, there's no way to get into the actual chamber.I'm probably going to go with the original Soldapullt due to its more modular nature, but I don't feel really good about giving the company money again lol Maybe I shouldn't judge them fully off one product, but we'll see.

Very good unit, hard to find one with a larger hole like this one.
