I was really wanting a nightlight that I could turn on and off in the middle of the night (when I'm half asleep) with only a simple touch. I was also looking for an amber colored light, my preference. This light allows me to turn it on and off with a simple touch, and lets you choose the color, including amber! YAY!The instructions are rather vague, but sounded intriguing. After some experimentation with the various features, the following is what I learned.HOW IT SEEMS TO WORK:1. The three buttons and the wooden ring on top of the light are used to control the color, brightness/dimness, and effect (strobe, color changing, or steady).2. The product page describes this light as "touch activated." To use the touch activation feature, the light must first be turned on using the manual on/off switch on the side. Once the light is switched on, you can turn the light on or off by continuous touching of the middle button for three seconds.3. Once you switch it on, it comes on in the white color. When tapping the dim button, it cycles through four dimming phases, then repeats as long as you continue to push the dim button.4. To change the color, use the wooden ring on the top. THIS IS A VERY COOL FEATURE!! Once turned on, if you run your finger around the wooden outer ring on the top of the light, you can choose the exact color you want. As long as you don't touch the center button, it will stay in the steady mode and keep the color you chose, until you change it again. You may dim or brighten the color in steady mode.5. Once you tap the center button, the light goes out of steady mode and will automatically cycle through a series of colors, from red to pink, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue... It cycles through all the colors in about 20 seconds. If you touch the dim button during the color changing mode, it simply brightens or dims those colors. If you touch the outer wooden ring, the color changing mode will stop and go into steady mode.6. If you hit the 'effect' button while in color changing mode, it slightly slows down the time it takes to change from one color to the next. There appear to be four only slightly different 'speed' modes.7. I could not find or use the 'strobe' mode.The light has a faux wood base which looks convincing. The 'wood' ring on top is probably also faux wood, but it is done well and adds a natural element. And during the daytime, when not turned on, the light looks rather plain and needs the wood element to make it look somewhat interesting.The light also comes with a fold out ring on the bottom so that it can be hung upside down. If it is hung overhead, by hanging it upside down the buttons are still easily accessible for use.It comes with a short charging cord, and charges fairly quickly.All in all, it is a very cool light.

We needed some ambient lighting for our bedroom other than our harsh bedside lamps. This lamp has various different settings for changing color and patterns, and the light emitted is very soft and relaxing. It it’s rechargeable too in case you want to move it from room to room. In addition to all these features, we found out after the fact that it’s great room lighting for sexy time, if you get my meaning. Much better than boring old room lighting or total darkness. It’s just the right amount of light for extracurricular activities.

...until you have to recharge it, of course.Since I have other night lights at home, including an Alexa ball, I have to compare this light to them. As I said, the fact that it does not need an outlet to work means I can carry it to anywhere in the house (or outside for that matter), and turn it on without the restriction of plugging it in and/or grabbing an extension cord. That is the number one advantage for this light over the other night lights. In the same breath however, the disadvantages is, you have to manage its charge. Not good if you forget to charge it and want to use it. Also, more than once, I wanted Alexa to turn it off before the timer expired. But of course, that's not possible. So the trade-offs are obvious.The features - simple on/off button, tap for the timer, tap another to set the brightness, and the touch ring to change colors (the coolest thing) make it a winner in my mind. The colors are great and intensity is about right. So, nice product !

This lamp is small but mighty. I love that: 1) it is rechargeable; 2) the color changes and you can make it cycle all the colors or you can just easily pick a color and use that; 3) it is easy to pick a color -- just run your fingers around the wooden circle on the top; 4) you can adjust the brightness of the lamp; 5) there is an automatic timing function. You can set to turn off for 1, 2, 4 or 6 hours. 6) the lamp is portable and hangable. There is a hidden handle on the bottom of the lamp. 7) the lamp gives off a pleasant light. There is really a lot to love about this lamp.

I have another one of these lamps from a different manufacturer. I like the wood grain look on the base of this one as it gives this a richer, more elegant look. You can raise or lower the brightness, change the colors and even set a timer. Typical charge on full usually lasts several days and the lower brightness setting will get you a week or more. I have also left mine plugged in 24/7 and never need to worry about charging, however with these types of batteries I know some people are concerned, so do your own research and proceed as you see fit. With the latest coupon, I find this to be a great value!

I need a night light. This lamp tries to accomplish a lot. But it is just too awkward to use. First of all, on/off switch. It is a tiny switch on the bottom. Can you imagine how I search for it in the dark for it? I assume it is to be left on for active use. The other way to turn it on is touch and hold the middle dot on the top with the switch on. The problem is that those three dots on the top do not have any edges that I can feel to know where they are. I need to be precise in touching the right area in complete darkness. I was looking for a night light. This is just not user friendly for that. What I need is a light I can touch to turn it on without feeling the light for the right spot and holding it for two seconds. And touch it again (I take double touch, too) to turn it off.
