Remember you need to push the blue light/ button and hold it to turn on or off 2,3,4 drives. It not a hot plug drive but the button cuts the power so you don’t need to power down to swap drives.

I purchased this after having already purchased and returned a silverstone and a dishot one. The silverstone one was too narrow for my silverstone case, not sure how they managed that but it left an ugly gap all around it and the dishot one was pretty flimsy and after removing the fan I discovered they hadn't put any holes in the PCB so it cooled nothing. This one has none of those problems and has some bonuses like both sata and molex power options and an overheat alarm.The only problem with this one is you'll never find it as it doesn't come up in search results because the title on amazon is terrible, a shame seeing as it's the best in it's class.

First one arrived and only 2 enclosures powered up. Looked very good quality so ordered replacement which arrived 1 day earlier than advised. This one works very well. Have converted an old PC to replace an older NAS. This is great. My new set up is faster and the enclosure keeps my discs safe and easy to access. Will use again.

After reading all of the reviews for this drive cage, I bought it hoping to turn some of the bays in my Unraid NAS to be drawer loading. I wasn't bothered about the 'hotswap' element, as Unraid doesn't support it anyway. I was more interested in ease of access and making use of some spare 5.25 inch drive bays.First impressions were good - well packed, decent instructions, accessories included spare SATA cables which arguably IcyBox don't *have* to include. So I was disappointed when I loaded the backplane and connected it all up, to find only two of the drives receiving power. A bit of 'swapping' showed only 1 and 2 were working, so I powered everything down, reseated all the cables and tried again. Now no drives were powered up.By this point what little remaining hair I have was starting to come out, so I initiated the Amazon returns process. A shame, I was hoping for good things based upon the previous reviews. Maybe I just got a 'lemon' but for a system running 24x7 I'd rather not risk it.

ein sehr schweres gehäuse solide verarbeitungnach langem habe ich mich entschlossen trotz seiner Masse es in mein Pc einzubauen,funtioniere auch problemlosbeim Einschlat des Pc dann die Überraschung es funtionier nichts keine LED gehen an nur der Lüfter dreht mal kurz hoch und das wars es dannauch keinerlei bewegung bein den Festplattenmal sehen ob man den hersteller zu einerm ersta bewegen kannEDIT:Nach einen Telefonat mit einem Support Mitarbeiter von Raid Sonic Funtioniert das Gerätunterhalb der Schachtbezechnunh HHD 1 etc sind kleine knöpfe diese muss man ein paar sekunden Drücken um die Festplatten mit Strom zu versorgen Leider Funtionieren meine alten WD Raptor Platten nicht aber ansonsten super

Beim mittlerweile 3. Gerät fielen nach relativ kurzer Betriebsdauer die HDD-LEDs aus. Ist dem Hersteller bekannt und man hoffte, dass dieses Problem abgestellt wäre.Folgende Situation: 4 Platten im RAID und dann plötzlich eine und kurz danach 3 von 4 LEDs aus (defekt), das RAID nach Check aber ok; mittlerweile auch noch Aussetzer am SATA Anschluss im laufenden Betrieb - sowas geht gar nicht.

Ich habe die Icy Box IB563SSK Backplane heute in Betrieb genommen. Völlig problemlose Installation, alle Festplatten (zwei WD red und eine Seagate) konnten problemfrei eingebaut und betrieben werden.Die Verarbeitungsqualität überzeugt, die meisten Teile sind aus Metall und wirken sehr robust. Der mitgelieferte Lüfter wirkt zwar eher günstig, die Lautstärke ist aber noch akzeptabel. Einziges Verbesserungspotential (1/2 Stern Abzug) ist der Stecker für den Lüfter: hier ist ein dreipoliger "mini"-Stecker verbaut, ein passender Ersatzlüfter ist schwer zu beschaffen. Ich habe mir einen Adapterstecker selbst gelötet, und gleich einen besseren Lüfter verbaut.
