Connects USB midi Piano to lightning device
This cable is good quality. I'm using it to connect a digital piano to Garageband on an iPhone and it works great. It was plug and play for me. Garageband recognized the USB device immediately and all the midi channels were mapped correctly and translated into the software seamlessly. This cable is a good way to circumvent using adapters to connect everything up, which can come with its own set of unexpected challenges. Highly recommend!

Make sure your device is compatible
I got this because I have a few synthesizer and instrument apps on my phone that would be nice to control with the keyboard. Because it’s a mobile set up tons of people have an AKAI mini it’s nice and laptop bag sized. As soon as I plugged it in the the controller did power on it, lit up and displayed my user preset, so I tried it with a Moog app, and then with some other piano app, tried to get into the settings to configure the midi with no luck on both.In the product page, it does list ableton as a approved device so I opened a ableton note went to the midi settings and got an error message saying that my device requires too much power to be powered off of my phone.I have added a screenshot of this error message. The big problem is this particular controller is only powered through USB. I cannot plug it in to an outlet and it is simply not compatible with the phone. I am using an iPhone 13 by the way.As for the cable itself, it did make a tight connection on both ends. The cable feels a little flimsy to be using in a professional setting. But the cable did work it transfer a data enough to know that the controller wasn’t compatible and it did at pier to power the controller on so I don’t know that it’s the fault of the cable so much as the two devices not working togetherBut if those devices don’t work together, I’m not sure why you would even need this cable the controllers I have that plug into the wall are already standalone synthesizers pretty much anything you plug-in is going to be powered through the USB and your phone can’t handle it
