Compact to a point. Very efficient as an aerial
Over the past couple of years, I've been experimenting with various forms of TV source in my motorhome. The roof mounted omnidirectional 'flying saucer' style aerial is rarely able to provide an adequate signal for Freeview, so I carry a satellite dish and can often tune in to Freesat as an alternative. This is fine unless I am on a pitch without direct line of sight to the satellite. As I prefer Freeview to Freesat, I bought a mini log periodic aerial which had great reviews, but unless the signal was strong it wasn't much better. It wa, however, small and easy to stow away. This Maxview Compact Tri-Boom Mobile TV aerial is my latest attempt at finding a small(ish) and reliable solution for TV on the go. Now, I admit I didn't look at the dimensions before I bought it - Maxview's own site describes it as compact and suitable for areas with weak reception. I was therefore a little surprised at the size of the box when it arrived.Prior to use, the aerial requires a small amount of assembly. The reflectors/dipole push into spring clips and the booms are hinged to allow a slightly smaller packed size. This takes no more than a couple of minutes and is a real doddle once you've done it a couple of times. Compact? Well, I suppose it's a matter of perception. Just be aware that this isn't tiny. The really important factor is - does it work. The answer is yes, it works perfectly for me.On a recent trip, I was on a fully serviced pitch with satellite and aerial sockets provided. The site aerial feed was boosted and signal strength was a healthy 10 on my meter. A channel scan on Freeview resulted in a total of 116 TV, Radio and Data channels. Switching to the Maxview aerial mounted on a pole at around 2 metres high and I was getting a signal strength of 9 on the meter. A second channel scan resulted in exactly 200 TV, Radio and Data channels.I'm extremely happy with the performance of this aerial and would recommend it to anyone who has the room to stow one and a suitable pole/tripod to mount it

Great aerial!
Very good! It’s a great quality aerial, and gives great signal even in poor areas. It’s not tiny, but it’s small considering the quality!

Fantastic aerial, managed to get 90 channels in the middle of Glencoe in the scottish highlands. Not many aerials capable of that.
