I accidentally left my Surface Pro unplugged for a week. When I plugged it back in, the OEM charger blinked and did not charge the Surface. Neither did the smaller travel charger. The battery was so flat the "smart" oem chargers went into an error state. This guy is a dumb charger. I plugged the USBC adapter into a USBC brick that came with a newer laptop, and my Surface immediately started charging. About 20 seconds later the Surface sprang to life. Normal boot, everything fine. I let it charge over USBC for about an hour, then switched back to the OEM charger. Success! No more blink-blink error state. This thing saved my bacon! The Surface is full of all the photographs I took with my dSLR, some of which haven't been backed up yet. Dodged a bullet!

Zero stars. Does not work on a first generation Surface Book. The connector looks correct and slots into the port magnetically, but it does nothing.

Works great. Plug an go. I wasted money on the cheap wired one this is more convenient.. it’s bulky enough u won’t over look it . Half the size of a baby bic…

For travelling it is a great idea however when used with my power banks they will not power the Surface. This may be a limitation of said banks but charges with direct power sources.

Used on both a surface 3 and a surface 8, you just need to remember that this is not going to allow you to charge from a 2W wall wart. I happen to be using it with a 65W unit. But should work down to 35W. Charges and reasonable time magnet is strong enough that it stays in place.

it won't charge a Surface laptop 7, or 65W power.

Waste of money! I got this adapter yesterday and immediately tried it out. The only thing that worked was the little light that shows it's plugged in. Other than that, it didn't charge (and I left it plugged in overnight). I know the USB 3 I used works because I use it to charge my phone. Stay away from this product!

Just picked this up and it seems to be working on my Surface Pro 8 charging from an Anker C300 DC power bank. The tablet was at 79% charge when I connected to the power bank. The tablet is drawing 30-35 watts from the power bank and in this little test the tablet has gone from 79% to 85% charge in about ten minutes with the tablet screen being on but otherwise the tablet is idle.

Don’t waste your time on this piece of garbage, it doesn’t work

Awful. Item doesn’t receive charge and return process isn’t worth it. Awful product and service.
