This is a very good looking timer switch with the time intervals I was looking for. I had an issue with the unit I received but customer service reached out and was very responsive. Top notch and makes a customer feel valued (unlike recent interactions with Amazon customer service). Would recommend.

Installation was simple. Like that it has regular connectors, not wires sticking out like most timers. Worried about the long term quality, as the 5 minutes button sticks a bit on day one (don't plan to use that one too often though). Nice that it comes with the faceplate (1 gang) as well.

Ordered this LIDER 2-Hour Countdown Timer Switch with Wall Plate as I am a journeyman electrician and can often use these in remodel or new construction projects. Unfortunately I think this particular offering has some issues that make it a questionable purchase.The item came packaged in a branded box with manufacturer contact information and UL listing which is a great starting point. I unpacked the countdown timer and hooked it up using my test setup in the kitchen. After waiting 2 minutes like the instructions said (the load was active during this time) I long pressed the power button and the lights shut off. Then I was able to select the different timer buttons, when I did so there was an LED light that quickly flashed to indicate what button was selected then the LED's went dark. The light stayed on for the correct amount of time before turning off. Most of these are designed such that the LED's illuminate the amount of time remaining on the node, this one did not. When it's on you don't know how much time is left.The switch does seem reasonably constructed, but as an electrician I question the fact that is it UL listed while requiring a ground wire. That means that it must be used to complete the circuit on the LED indicator light and that should be a code violation. A ground can only be used as a ground, every other switch that has a light I have installed requires a neutral to power that light. That's issue number 1. The second issue is that the listing claims it can handle 1200W while the instructions that I took a picture of list: 800W for tungsten and 6.4A for resistive loads 6.4*120 = 680W resistive. Then they list the fluorescent capacity in volt amps... why list each load in a different metric? No matter how you list it none are equal to 1200W. That makes this item unsuitable for cadet heater loads, pretty much only lighting or fans.I would like to rate the product higher, I had to take a star for the LED light not staying on, one for using the ground in a suspect manner and a final star for listing in the subject 1200W load capacity which does not match the other metrics. I will not be installing it. Depending on what your usage scenario is there are better priced products on Amazon without the above issues.

I saw a similar unit to this at a friends house when I was using his bathroom. The benefit was immediately obvious to me as it allowed me to leave the fan on and the door closed while the air cleared. If you heard a sound and the door was closed, you knew to avoid the area, and when the fan was off it was safe.It's also useful when taking a shower to make sure you can completely remove the humidity from the room.If you've ever installed a switch, this is installed in the same way.
