Some really good topics visited - women, high and low level corruption, dynamics of family and social ties in Egypt but could relate to any islamic culture worldwide. The style was just not for me, very disjointed and hard to understand which timeframe/character you exactly are in, a lot of repetition. Not entirely disappointing, I just didn't connect with the story.

good insight to history and endurance of females in this society

Saw programme on the authors' life and ordered this book to read. I really enjoyed it and am passing it on to others to read. The Wordery are reliable and prompt so recommend them as great suppliers.

I have read most of Nawal's books she tells a history that needs to be read.

Very repetitive and disjointed and a chore to read. Only finished it as it was the selection from my book group.
