Decent smart bulb without the expensive hub
I'd been looking at smart bulbs for a few months, and was trying to avoid the need for a separate hub device (such as the Philips Hue). The second issue I faced is that here in the UK, most light fittings (at least in my house) are bayonet (BC/SBC) based, yet most smart bulbs seem to be Edison Screw (ES/SES). I did previously purchase one of the TP-Link smart bulbs (non-RGB), but again it came with an ES base and a BC adapter, but with the adapter on it made the bulb stick out the top of the lamp shade!Decided to give the Lohas RGB Candle Smart Bulbs (with a BC base) a try, and they're pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Bulbs are bright, colourful, and responsive. No buzzing noises or flickering. It can take a few attempts to get them to pair with your Wi-Fi network, but make sure you're connecting them on the 2.4GHz band (b/g/n), and that for the initial attempt (at least) the bulb and your mobile device are near your Wi-Fi router or access point. I've had no issues with Wi-Fi range after the initial pairing, and none of them have lost their connection.Bulbs work well with Alexa and commands are easily understood. I would like to see a bit more functionality in the Tuya app (such as better grouping of devices, and the ability to create scenes with specific colours for each bulb), but for now, everything is working as I'd like. Will definitely be looking to purchase more of these bulbs for the rest of the house.

Quick, Simple, Great value for money.
I now have four of these lights. they are really simple to setup with the Lohas Smart app and once you've setup the light in there you can integrate them into google (Can't comment on Alexa as don't have).Pros:You can add them into groups within the app to control multiple lights at once.Minimal enerygy usage as these are LED.These are extremely good at making you lazy. :)You can setup routines with Google/Alexa.Multiple Colours.Cons:Only one - The maximum brightness is not the best if you don't have a lot of natural light in the room you put it in, or if there are no additional lights available to compliment this one.I'd definitely buy more of these. I just wish there was another that had a higher brightness level.

Works with other apps, not just the one suggested
First, we already have a number of smart things and are happy with the app we have (eFamilyCloud) so I can't really comment on the recommended app. As eFamilyCloud is already linked to Alexa, setup was a dawdle. As soon as the bulbs were installed on the app Alexa recognised them - no need to run "discover devices".These bulbs are used as bedside lighting, so we don't need a big bright light, and these are fine, giving off enough light to read by if it's on your bedside table. One bulb wouldn't be bright enough at a distance though, and they are a wee bit dimmer than the 5 watt LED white (non-smart) bulbs they replaced. The colours are okay, allowing you to change the whole room in an instant. The functionality issues others have described seem to be down to the app. There are quite a few available now, so if this is your first smart device try one bulb on a few different apps and choose the app you like best. Alexa is also getting better at smart device control.

Good value with good reliability
Bulbs were installed and working within 3 minutes using the very good Smart Life app. I have a number of smart home products running that use the app and it integrates well into iOS, allowing simple widgets to be added to the ‘today screen’. Hopefully this will be extended with full support for iOS 14 widgets.I have no experience with Alexa, but they work exactly as expected with Google Home.Almost infinite range of colours to choose from along with scenes and automation options. This is as much to do with the app the bulbs run through, but the products themselves are very good with good reliability and functionality. After having originally bought two of these bulbs over a year ago, both are still going strong with daily use so was happy to buy more of the same for new light fixtures.

Poor quality-short life
I got 6 bubs from this manufacturer in October 2019, 4 of these E14 and 2 E27, its now June 2020 and 2 of the E14s have failed, and one of the E27s. I would expect a regular light bulb to last at least a year, LED light bulb?.. a decade.Pairing was relatively painless using the TUYA cloud network, but as with all cloud networks ongoing connection was an issue. Why these devices can't work locally is beyond me. Who wants lights you can't turn on because you can't access Alexa/googlehome, stupid idea. Long and short, I have 15 or so TUYA/Alexa items on my network, they all need re-pairing every 2 months or so due to network issues.A real shame, smart bulbs in this size/fit are as rare as hen's teeth, having to rely on a manufacturer with a 50% product fail rate sucks.*Edit* I've opened up the failed bulbs easily, no glue, the lower part of the white part unscrews and the 'lens' just unclips. I intend repairing them and the problem seems to be in the power supply, the control/LED board itself seems well made by a different manufaturer and still functions.Interesting, as I suspected, the bulbs make use of ESP8266 Wi-Fi micro-controllers, and the pins required for reprogramming are exposed as pads on the board. This opens up possibilities for uploading non-cloud firmware such as Sonoff or Tasmota to the bulbs.*2nd edit*I've manged to use Tuya Convert to reprogram the control boards and it now works with my Home Assistant installation without requiring a cloud connection or the mobile app. I'll probably 3d print a free standing desk enclosure running off USB power. It would be nice for the power supplies in the bulbs to be more reliable, but I've added a star for hack-ability.
