The Pioppi Diet

Best way to fight heart disease
Great book on how and why to fight my heart disease and my wife’s cancer through lifestyle changes. I wish it had more menu suggestions, but it was a great introduction to a new way of eating we are now practicing.

A comprehensive approach to achieving excellent health & reversing diseases long considered chronic.
In a single book, the Pioppi Diet contains within it much of the latest information. Some of the topics covered are - processed foods, sugar, saturated fat, counting calories, exercise, intermittent fasting etc.I believe this book is coming from Britain, so it took a little longer to arrive. It was well worth the slightly longer wait.

Other Books on the Same Topic Are Far Superior
What's the matter with Dr. Malhotra's text?(1) There are a number of Blue Zones in which healthy, active centarians abound. I think it's unrealistic for any author to focus on a single group in making recommendations for improved health.(2) A more realistic approach is to cite [A] analyses made of various such groups, as well as; [B] any special knowledge of the author; and [C] the results of scientific studies.(3) Also, it's unreasonable to assume that "everything" about the Pioppi livestyle aids weight loss and health, as well as avoidance of heart disease and Type 2 diabetes. Citing scientific studies would have permitted the author to comment on Pioppi diet and lifestye that do "not" foster good health (but are neutralized by the generally healthy Pioppi lifestyle). Here are two (2) books that stand head-and-shoulders above "The Pioppi Diet," and I assure you there are more:- "How Not To Die" by Dr. Michael Gregor;- "Becoming Vegan: The Complete Reference" by Brenda Davis.Okay, so both authors advocate veganism. And I admit veganism didn't originally turn-me-on. (Now my altogether traditional, primary physician has stopped scowling and proclaimed the changes in my cholesterol and other test results "amazing.") But that's not my point. By way of example, Dr. Greger's text cites and analyzes numerous studies of centarian societies, and it contains approximately 2,400 footnotes that reference an astonishing number of studies of such societies, supplements, and countless other asides. It is a brilliant reference book. And, frankly, a pretty hard-read. But worth it.I'm not saying that Dr. Malhotra should advocate veganism, and I'm certainly not saying that he needed to cite 2,400 references. But I "am" saying that of the 5 or 6 books on improving my health that I bought, this is the only one that makes me feel I wasted my money.

A sensory read!
I could almost picture what life would be like in Pioppi! I could smell and taste the food in the air that is how well it was described. I will be trying more to implement these guidlines in my life from now on. This illustrations were very handy for the the exercises, I like a book to have detailed pictures throughout. The recipes sound delicious and the food is everything I love but I have been too scared to eat more of.

Excellent
For those that have seen "The Big Fat Fix" movie, this book expands on it. It's not a "diet", it's a lifestyle that can help you live longer and healthier. Well written, easy to read, easy to implement. Not sure why it hasn't gotten a wider distribution in the U.S., I had to order my copy from the U.K. Great info for people interested in following a low carb or ketogenic Mediterranean diet and lifestyle.

Superb: holistic perspective with clear explanations -- includes practical recipes and simple exercises
A real treat to read - holistic, practical, beautiful photos, and includes simple, quick exercises that can be done throughout the day (to help with blood flow and metabolizing foods).Pioppi Diet also includes clear, simple explanations of key biological processes involved in health and metabolism. The section on reducing stress is the best thing that I've read on that general topic.I'll be giving several copies as gifts, because it's an excellent resource.

Be your own best advocate and read and research
I appreciated the research studies shared in this book and what I have personally researched over the past 8 years in regards to disease progression. It's unfortunate that our food industry's products do not corroborate with the research findings and that our youth in America is expected to have a shortened life expectancy because of the increase of disease.

Challenges the ongoing view that saturated fats are not good for our bodies
Well-written, interesting, helpful, with an in-depth discussion of nutritional value of foods. Challenges the ongoing view that saturated fats are not good for our bodies. Emphasizes the problems that come with over indulgence in sugar and carbs. A way of living that is healthy, as in Pioppi, rather than simply diet, is encouraged. Good book.

Lots of good advice
This is definitely a life-changing book, based on the documentary made by Donal and Aseem The Big Fat Fix, it outlines a healthy, straightforward way of life that is attainable for anyone, regardless of their current lifestyle. I bought a Kindle copy and am waiting for my hard copy to come from the UK. Already tried the chicken curry recipe and it was amazing - I'm hooked !!

Interessante
Un libro che sta spopolando nel mondo, stile di vita e dieta quello di Pioppi e del cilento che sta cambiando le regole dell’alimentazione da 40 anni e tutti ci invidiano! da rivedere le ricette troppo adattate allo stile dello scrittore
