Great item, quick and easy install. Couldn't be happier.
This is my first foray into instant hot water dispensers. We like a clean, uncluttered counter top in the kitchen, and often left our electric kettle sitting out. Got tired of it, so started looking for a good deal on Amazon. I was a little concerned about the quality of this item, due to the 2 poor reviews vs 1 positive one. Well, I figured I couldn't lose buying it from Amazon, so I took the plunge. Boy oh boy am I glad I did.First of all, if you've been looking at this type of unit, you know they aren't cheap. For roughly $200 usually you only get a tank, and can spend another $200 for the faucet. Ouch, that's a lot a cash. For $207 with the tank AND faucet, this is the best deal going. I happen to really like the way the faucet looks, as it more-or-less matches our sink faucet, but of course, that's a matter of opinion. The installation was pretty much a breeze, once I figured out what I was doing. It came with almost everything I needed, with the exception of a sufficient length of polyethylene tubing and a method to attach the cold water supply to the unit. I bought a length of 1/4" poly tubing from HD, and an adapt-a-valve to tie it in. Oh, and if you didn't already know, it just plugs in to a standard 3-prong outlet, it's not hardwired. So you need to run an outlet under your sink (GFCI please).Anyway, I used the supplied poly tube for the hot supply, and the HD poly tubing for cold (don't know if the HD stuff is rated for high temperatures). Including extending a circuit under my sink, grand total it took me an hour and a half. Once I was certain there were no leaks, I plugged it in, and 20 minutes later I had hot water. Easy-peasy.Oh yeah, the method of securing the faucet to the counter is pure genius. There's a hinged washer you drop through the hole in the counter, then pull tight with the attached plastic lanyard thingy. Put the base on the counter then run the screws down and through the washer. Bam, that's it. No crawling under your sink with a wrench and cussing loud enough for the neighbors to hear. The only downside I see, and I'm sure this applies to all of them, is it's huge. I doubt it's any larger than the others, but I wasn't expecting it to take up so much space. It took a little effort to find just the right spot and angle to make it work, but ultimately it was fine. Just thought I should mention it if you have a cramped space to deal with.I've attached a couple of pictures, in particular pics of the proper adapter you need to attach to your cold water tap. Hopefully it will make sense. In the meantime,Official Seal of Approval applied.

Great Product/Quality Dispenser
This is a great product for the price. The quality of the faucet is top notch, and the install design is ingenious and should be the standard so no one would ever need to be tightening the faucet with a wrench under the cabinet. I was a little worried since others complained about the plastic smell from the hot water tank, but it did not smell at all. I did install a fresh water filtering system at the same time, which is a good idea since you're already spending time to install this item. I installed the Frizzlife Under Sink Water Filter System. Only complaint would be the install kit not including a T-Valve for the supply water. I'm thinking this should be included since everyone installing this item (other than those replacing an existing insta-hot) needs a split water supply valve. I just purchased one at the hardware store, and the install was very simple.

Didn't work out of the box; Have to find correct connector parts
First, in regards to the installation, the product does not come with what is needed to connect it to the cold water feed line, so you have to buy that yourself. I went to Lowes and had someone help me and even he couldn't find a connector that would work. I ended up having to buy two different connectors to get it to work.In case anyone needs a tip: A typical T-connector for the cold water has a 3/8" male compression connector to go the 1/4" tube provided by the RH-100. So I had to buy a 3/8" female compression to a 1/4" male compression and then a 1/4" female compression to 1/4" outer diameter SharkBite connector. The second problem was that after install it just would not heat. I followed the instructions on filling the tank before powering it on, then let it sit for 30 minutes to heat up, but it was always room temperature. Then, I followed their FAQ and turned the knob fully clockwise and counter-clockwise 3-4 times (I did it like 6-7) and then left it on the max setting for over 60 minutes and it still was room temperature.I have an open support case with the manufacturer, so we will see how well they deal with this.

Descale it at least annually with vinegar if you have hard water
It installed fine (as someone who is mechanically handy), although it would have been much nicer if the hot line was another six inches longer. It would be nice if the thermostat went a bit higher, but coffee and tea are fine, and it’s very nice to brew them instantly. This is an upgrade from our old counter top dispenser since we don’t need to refill it.After about a year of use the unit started boiling over and over again, maybe twice an hour. Because the design is an open outflow the plumbing is simplified, but that means every time it boils the tap sputters hot water and steam (onto the counter if you haven’t been careful to leave it pointed over the sink). That got annoying very quickly.Fortunately I was able to resolve the problem by descaling the unit. I feed it hard water that only goes through a simple filter (no RO), so it’s not surprising that scale would build up inside. However, there’s no tank drain or provided instructions for the procedure. I shut off the water to the filter and power to the heater, and removed both cartridges from my filter unit. Instead of replacing them I filled each of the two housings with white vinegar and reassembled the filter (turn off the ice maker first!), and turned the water back on. Then I ran hot water from the tap into the sink until I smelled the vinegar. I left it sitting in the tank for an hour or three and then flushed everything and reinstalled new filters. There were a few more excessive reboil events right afterwards, but now it’s been a couple weeks and I can say it’s back to normal. Descaling definitely did the trick, though of course your plumbing might not make it as simple.

Low wattage
This is a game changer for our little off grid cabin with only solar power and sometimes a generator, we are happy to not need to fill a hotpot anymore to wash hands or brush teeth! Only 700 watts and only when it is heating. Sweet. Works great with filtered well water. The faucet has a funky unnecessary set up but not a deal breaker. Thank you.

Loved the first one until it leaked
I had a plumber install it the first time so very easy. It worked perfectly for 18 months and I loved the ease of using it - note: if you are going away for the weekend and the water has been sitting then run it through thoroughly and there wont be a problem with the smell or taste of the water.Unfortunately it started leaking slowly from the base (I have a water alarm which notified me) so I ordered another one here so it was easy to swap over. I received it but the tank was tripping the breaker (arc fault) so I returned it for another. It was clear when I received the second one that it was a return from someone else and also tripped the breaker. I then paid the electrician to ensure it wasn't something to do with the breaker. it wasn't and they said to return the unit as likely something wrong with the heating element. I also contacted the manufacturer to check they hadn't changed the tank and they hadn't. again I contacted amazon to return this for another one. wouldn't you know, amazon sent me the one I originally sent back but it was in worse shape - missing pieces and the heating knob off - what did the warehouse do with it?! Well I am trying for the last time. wish me luck!

Works great
The 1/4" line that comes with the unit is a little crappy, so just spent $6 on a piece of hose and a couple connectors and it works great!
