EarthQuaker Devices Westwood Translucent Drive Manipulator Guitar Effects Pedal

I got this after seeing a lot of chatter about it. Basically, it's a light-medium gain overdrive with a powerful EQ section and it's excellent at what it does. It's designed to be basic and it is, it has only the adjustments you'd need to get more out of your rig.

Earthquaker never disappoints. I always have high expectations for their pedals because of their reputation and cost but I didn’t expect as much as this pedal delivers for the modest price (at least by Earthquaker standards).It’s definitely a light to medium gain overdrive. Great for low wattage combos but also gives solid state amps of any size a great tube-like, organic warmth.You can use this as a clean boost, dirt pedal, or as your main distortion. It reminds me of the kind of distortion I can get from a Boss DS-1 but with more clarity. The active EQ is the killer feature here. It lets you tailor the sound to be warm and girthy, fizzy, or anywhere between. It’s like a better tube screamer when it comes to the EQ and amount/type of distortion it puts out.I first paired this up with a standard Strat (3 single coils) and a Fender Champion 100 (solid state) amp. It made the amp’s usually sterile sounding first channel sound warm and just great.Highly recommend. 10/10. Can’t go wrong.

I kept looking at this pedal and putting off purchasing it. I'm glad I got it, it's my new favorite overdrive.Sounds great with all of my guitars and has a very nice range from light to crunch to reasonably heavy considering it's "light to medium."

Works great as a serious overdrive ~ smooth distortion for bass.I can dial in nice overdriven bass tone in many post-rock records.(bands like Totorro, and Lite)Unless you are looking for metal overdrives like Darkglass stuffs (which are great),Westwood should get the job done both in live or studio.

Product didn’t provide that “wow” moment. Cheaper versions have very similar effect.

A very versatile pedal. But the bypass button make a noticeable click sound when turning on and off. I guess it is the nature of true bypass button. Great pedal overall.
