3M 2080 M21 Matte Silver (5ft x 1ft W/Application Card) Vinyl Wrap Film Sheet with Air-Release for Cars, Trucks & More (5sq ft Roll)

The dead-matte black looks great, but shows a ton of fingerprints. This is known and not a surprise. Reading reviews shows that this may be an issue, and it only takes a cloth with some rubbing alcohol to clean it up, but it's just more noticeable than gloss.Application was reasonable, even as a beginner. I spent much time with cut tape attempting to get 'perfect' butt seams, but in the end, I opted for small over-lap. Once heated, the vinyl formed well to the neighbor and it is difficult to see. You need to be looking for the faults to find them. I've attached a picture of the bike I applied this too. Many complex curves, which took substantial stretching. The film was reasonably accommodating, though tore as expected when pushed too far.I dropped two stars for the company. RVinyl pre-cuts and packages the 3M product and adds in some helper items. See the pictures above regarding the tears in the film. RVinyl's cutting was certainly off and was tearing the sheets. I ordered two of this and both were torn the same way. It makes me wonder how many other torn sheets were sent out.Their shipping (via Amazon?) came much later than was advertised and put my project on hold. I would have been better buying elsewhere. When I asked RVinyl about it, they simply laid the blame on Amazon, though my shipment appeared to come from them anyway. Their disregard for the fact that their name was attached to a product on Amazon that continue to show faster shipping AFTER I ordered with no consideration for making a customer happen was very disappointing.Then to find it show up ripped as shown in the pictures.I'd recommend the product, but not from RVinyl. Find another company selling it.

I had what I would call a difficult door handle and how I wanted it wrapped. I have tinted before many times so I'm aware of how to work with film. I had tried a few other brands that had said they were just as good as 3M. That turned out to be false. I attempted the job 3 times with other films. Just didn't stick and was difficult to conform. Then I tried this 2080 3M film and viola! Success instantly and I was able to lay it down in only 5mins a handle. Don't trust any other wrap if you are trying to do something like what I was doing.

I used this to turn a brass floor electric outlet into a bronze electric outlet. Because of some of the intricate details of the outlet covers I used my exact knife to make the cuts. Easy to cut. With any kind of detail work you’ll need patience. It was easy to place, heat and remove air bubbles. I know have a Matt metallic bronze floor outlet which coordinates well with my flooring and the other oil rubbed bronze metals in my kitchen. It blends in well.

I'm no wrap expert but I have wrapped a fender, a couple car parts and dozens and dozens of MacBooks, iPads, iPhones to know that 3m wrap is 3m wrap. 3m vinyl seems to be highly overpriced for what it is which is why I ding it a star. The second reason is this specific color (charcoal) tends to sheen if you stretch it slightly too far, making the end result seem discolored. This doesn't happen with glossy wraps.Otherwise this is just like any other 3m wrap. It looks great when installed properly but I believe glossy wraps are easier to work with than matte.

3M 2080 is my go to vinyl after trying a handful of other brands. It applies easily, is very forgiving, and looks great. I usually pick a gloss color, but this matte slate blue metallic color was requested by my cousin for a project I did for her. I wouldn't have picked it myself but it turned out to be beautiful, understated, classy, with just the right amount of flash. Really a great choice if you like blue.

It's a really clean and easy to apply look, I'll attach my first couple pieces with some pretty intimidating curves as an example. I wanted a deep matte black to cover the chrome on my interior and this is exactly what I envisioned. I did use a heat gun (my wife's hair dryer) once but with patience on my part it never would have been needed. The one thing ill say is get an actual kit for install, what it comes with is a basic credit card shaped tool which will cut the material. I included the before and after photos.

This stuff is great, very flexible once its warm.downside of that is, if you want to retain a straight edge like if using it for a stripe its near impossible.very easy to apply and does not trap air. perfect for curved surfaces.i bought the "matte brown metallic" and its a nice bronze color.

I bought this to match my bronze volks te-37s and it matches it very close to make me happy. I notice the material quality is thinner by half vs the same 1080 series of matte carbon fiber and hot rod red vinyls I bought in the past. This one doesn’t take as much heat and stretching before tearing (unlike those two mentioned above).
