The Better2Know HIV Test allows you to test for HIV at home, without needing to visit a doctors surgery or sexual health centre. This confidential 4th generation HIV test uses a single blood sample to detect both types of HIV (type I and type II) as well as the p24 antigen. The Better2Know HIV Test is available now. This comprehensive testing option requires one sample of blood, which is collected using a finger prick lancet. The test should be taken no less than 28 days, or four weeks, after any potential exposure to the virus. If you test before this time, the accuracy of your results may be compromised. Order your HIV Test before 4pm on a weekday and Better2Know will dispatch your test on the same day via first class post. Your personal kit is dispatched in a plain white envelope and should arrive the next working day. Inside you will find three lancets, a blood collection tube, a pathology form, wipes, and a post-paid return envelope. We will also email you with your order confirmation, along with instructions for sample collection. When you have taken your sample, place the tube into the envelope provided and send it to our certified laboratory where it will be analysed. Results will be made available online through the protected patient area of our website. Better2know's Patient Services team will contact you by email when all your results are ready. All confidential information is handled in the strictest confidence and personal details will not be shared with any third party unless you specifically ask us to. If your HIV Test is reactive, Better2Know's sexual health advisory team will organise further confirmatory testing and referral to a specialist service should you wish.
