Almost there
So the first unit I ordered for my father did not work...The light which is the BIGGEST reason I purchased this item didn't work and thus I'm returning it...I purchased another unit and the same thing happened...The volume is plenty high enough, but the light doesn't work and so it's almost a good buy...I wouldn't recommend...I'll keep the second unit at least he can hear it...This type of thing sucks!

CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT THIS GADGET
I am a very heavy sleeper. The only thing that wakes me up is the loud ringing sound of a phone. I subscribed to a service called snooster, and set up my alarm wake up time, and I get wake up calls every day. This device greatly amplifies the ringing sound of a phone! That's what I use it for!

loud, high pitched!
I ordered two, and only need one, and it's very loud. However, you need an extra phone cord, only a couple dollars to connect to your phone. There is no cords included, and needs no power. Can also mound on a wall with adhesive or screw/nail, and do not really need to connect to a phone for ringer to work.

Not worth the trouble
Ringer does not come with a cord, so had to buy one to connect it. Ringer has two phone-jack ports (line in, line out), but neither are marked. Ringer has a slide switch I assume for Loud, and Louder... it's not marked either and the Ringer comes with NO instructions at all. After buying a phone cord to hook it up, I found it is not much louder than my phone, and can hear no difference between Loud & Louder.I gave it 2 stars simply because it is inexpensive, and is slightly louder than my phone. It's made of plastic, it would not have cost them anything to mold in some markings for the phone cords (such as "IN" and "OUT"), and they could have marked the switch "H" & "L". Typical Chinese junk... it "kinda" works. You get what you pay for.
