Works exactly as it should.
Snaps into tool (Ryobi Stick Vacuum purchased as tool only) very securely. Milwaukee battery snaps into adapter and feels tight and secure. I have Ryobi and Milwaukee batteries but my 2AH Milwaukee batteries last as long as Ryobi 3AH and and are much lighter in weight. My wife finds the Milwaukee batteries much easier to remove and install on the vacuum and the chargers. Well worth the price paid.

So far, so good
Most of my tools are Dewalt. But I do have a couple old Ryobi with old batteries. The adapter works as it should but is not very "form fitting." In other words, they could have designed it to look better. But for $10, it's definitely worth it. Works fine on all my Ryobi tools with Dewalt batteries.

May not fit your M18 tool
UPDATE: Seller read my review and did everything they could to make it right. I was surprised and would rate the seller as a 5-star! Product is a 3-star and I will be keeping it and using it as I had intended - as a "just in case" item. I think it is the best available item of it's type that I've found.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought this to have as a "just in case" type item since most of my cordless tools are yellow (so I have a lot of yellow batteries) but I just bought a red M18 inflator. Upon initial inspection, the adapter seemed like a decent piece, especially for the $10 price. The yellow battery fit right into the adapter perfectly. However, the adapter (with or without the yellow battery) would not lock into my M18 inflator. It would insert just fine most of the way except for the last 1/16" or so. That distance was enough to make it so that the locking tabs would not engage. I have read this occured in some other reviews of this product, but thought it might have been the reviewer or just an odd case.I was going to return the adapter, but decided to disassemble it to see why it wouldn't work because to the naked eye, it looked like it should fully insert and lock in fine. After some trial and error, I was able to determine that the female connectors on the circuit board were the issue. The connectors would not open wide enough to fully accept the tools male terminals. This was due to the opening travel of the connectors being limited by the plastic molded dividers inside the adapter, so it would effectively bind up just before full insertion. It's hard to explain, but I was able to compress the terminals so that I could make the adapter functional. If you get one and it won't lock in, I believe the only solution to make it work will be to disassemble the adapter and modify it by filing the plastic locking tabs or more appropriately modifying the terminal connectors so you get full contact. It will still work as it is, but it might not "lock in" to your tool fully.

ALLOWS YOU TO USE BATTERIES YOU ALREADY HAVE ON AN OLD TOOL
This adapter allows me to use the new NICAD batteries I already use for my new Dewalt drill on my old Ryobi - for a fraction of the cost of buying new batteries specifically for Ryobi.
