Embermann Modena 4 Burner Gas Barbecue

I wanted a 4 burner bbq with a hotplate section and a cast iron grill. This appeared to fit the bill at the cheapest price I could find. When it arrived and I found the box weighed 40kg I thought I had a quality bbq within. The weight belied the quality within though. The grill and burners are very solid cast iron and look like they will last forever, but, the rest of the bbq is made of quite flimsy painted mild steel. I was particularly disappointed with the flimsy lid that is only single-skinned. Having said that, the assembly instructions were clear and it took me a steady couple of hours to put together. Once built it was quite a sturdy bbq and large in size and really quite good value at £159.99 delivered. It's easy to use and the results excellent. It came with a 27mm clip on lpg regulator which was useless for my 18kg cylInder but luckily I had one that fitted. The supplied hose is quite short too at about 50cm but again I had a longer one so not an issue. Initially thought of rating it 4 stars due to the flimsy lid and main body but when I considered the price, it turned out to be a 5 star bargain.

I'm not normally glowing in reviews but I would challenge you to find a better BBQ for the price. It is well made, solid and relatively easy to assemble provided you look at the diagrams carefully. It came in a strong box and the parts, some of which are heavy, were very well packed so it arrived in A1 condition. One reviewer said that the cover is only single skin - it is - but it does the job perfectly well and you'd have to pay a lot more to get something better. The griddle half of the cooking area is reversible (flat one side, ridged the other) which is handy and there is a slot in each side of the main body presumably so that a rotisserie type attachment can be fitted. A gas regulator and flexible pipe is included even though the instructions say it isn't. I'm very happy with this purchase. Lastly, a word of praise for the supplier. A stud broke off while I was assembling the lid. I phoned the company, got an immediate helpful answer and a replacement part was at my front door less than 20 hours later. You couldn't ask for any more than that!

Was a little apprehensive about putting this together reading reviews, but it was pretty easy to put together. Takes some time, and is pretty fiddly in some places, but goes together very well. It looks very good, is sturdy not like the tin plate metal ones you can buy, and seems well made. Use is easy, and the grill cooks well and evenly. There are many bbq's on here, and many more available in outlets, but this far and away the best thing I've seen or used in a long time. Several friends commented on it when we had them round for a try out. One and only complain (not an issue for use) is that the gas hose is a little short for me - this absolutely does not take anything away from it's use overall. Brilliant

I purchased this in May 2016 from Sport and Leisure UK via Amazon.Everything was great! Then in December, our last BBQ of the year, I found that by the end of the cooking the far right burner knob and chrome effect backer had melted off. I contacted Sport and Leisure UK who told me to send them a photo and that they'd get me a new one sent out. I did, they didn't. I chased them, they then continued to ignore me.Well, its now the end of March and at the weekend we had our first BBQ of the year. Guess what? Now the remaining right hand knob has also started to melt off.Needless to say I'm less than pleased. The rest of the BBQ is great, nice cast iron plates to really cook things nicely and make cleanup a doddle. But it shouldn't bloody melt when in use!Since the seller wants nothing to do with it, I'll have to fix it myself.

Standard 4 burner good quality so far see how it holds up over the summer. Had crome dial face plate not black as shown in picture. looked better for what i needed so didmt raise issue.

Put this item together recently, instructions were clearly written although one or two of the diagrams could have been done better so you can understand the picture better it was fairly easy to do. One thing that did impress me was the fact that all the nuts and bolts come in a separate tray covered in their own compartments

One of the best BBQs I have ever had! Not yet road tested but constructing it was good. NOT easy and takes up to 4 hours - and some tiny screws(and the longer ones that fit the legs to the main chassis) were VERY difficult! But its solid and robust so should last a few years . The packaging was really excellent and while a lot of polystyrene is used it makes every part firm and not loose. All in all a very good buy!

Great bbq, seems to be high quality and cooks well. Really easy to clean too. Only downside was assembly. Took 4 hours by myself and the instructions weren't always clear due to the poor illustrations!
