Chagall

Chagall produced a lot of work. This book captures well his general trajectory and career with a judicious selection of his work. There are clues in the book as to why he includes rabbis and Christ, but I’m still left wondering about the roosters...

This Taschen book makes for an excellent introduction to the works of Belarussian artist Marc Chagall. It contains many excellent full page reproductions of his most famous paintings as well as a biographical narrative on the painter, who lived what seems to have been a full,interesting and colourful life. I found Chagall's style of painting to be attractive ,featuring dream like collages of figures with harmonious colour contrasts and recurring motifs. These Taschen books are great value and very informative.

Interesting and well illustrated book which gives a snapshot of Chagall's work. It is not the definitive guide (nor does it claim to be) but a very useful starting point.

Interesting book, bought as a raffle prize and well received by members as it mirrored the talk given by the lecturer at our Decorative & Fine Arts Society meeting.

I love the work of Chagall and this like all Taschen books is briilliant value for the money. Don't hesitate get it.
