Q: Do you use this while holding on to the bare whole nutmeg with your fingers?

I place the grater on a clean surface and stabilize it with my fingers and just start grating. It is tricky at first but so worth it as I love fresh nutmeg.

Q: What is made this of? Others state they're made of stainless steel, this one does not, so I assume it is aluminum.

I looked it over but it doesn't say anything about it. From the weight I would have to say aluminum.

Q: How many nutmegs does it store?

The grater only stores one nutmeg in the top. The extra nutmegs should be stored in a sealed container to maintain freshness.

Q: What type of metal is the blade made out of?

There is no blade, but the grater is made of stainless steel, so it will not rust/corrode
