Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You, Vol. 8
There was a lot of expectation after reading the summary to this volume and I think most of those expectations were fulfilled. That a new boy is interested in Sawako makes it a love triangle in most reader's minds, but I found it refreshing that he becomes more and more interested in her as time goes by without even realizing it completely. Though I had wished that Kazehaya had more of a fighting spirit when it came to keeping other guys from the girl he likes, I understand the shyness and uncertainty that he feels which makes him a far more likable character. This volume was a lot faster in comparison to the slower volumes before it which was a nice surprise for me and I enjoyed reading it. Overall I just can't wait to read the next volume.

Kimi ni Todoke is such a great series about one girl trying to get friends and how to get the courage to speak up to the guy she has a crush on.

The book is really yellow
I understand that after some time the book will yellow. I thought I was purchasing a new one so I wasn’t expecting it to be so yellow.

A New School Year Begins...
In volume 8, Sawako is pleased to find out that she, Ayane, Chizu, and Kazehaya are all in the same class again. Some of her new classmates still believe the old rumors about her, but with the help of a student named Kento, she begins to fit in with the class. Kento takes a special interest in Sawako. He thinks Kazehaya's attentions are bad for her because they will make the other girls in the class jealous, and he goes so far as to tell Kazehaya his thoughts. How will this affect Sawako and Kazehaya's developing relationship?I enjoyed this volume a lot. There's a sweet scene where Sawako helps tutor her class, and it really made me smile. Kento is... interesting. I wasn't quite sure what to make of him at first, what his intentions were. I think I was able to figure him out by the end of the book, but I'll let you decide for yourself what to think of him. Also, Ayane has a bit of a moment with Pin. That relationship is very slow-going, but I'm really looking forward to seeing how it develops. The reason I didn't give this volume 5 stars is that I'm getting a bit tired of all the set-backs in Sawako and Kazehaya's relationship. It's gotten a bit tedious. Luckily, the blurbs from up-coming volumes tell me that we don't have too much longer to go! Can't wait for volume 9!
