It takes 40 hours to fully charge the battery if it is only charged by solar energy. Review: How cute is this? - I have to chuckle. This lantern is a practical device but is just cute as it can be. It is about the size of a pint canning jar. It came well packaged, the little user manual is well written, it comes charged so you can check it out first thing. Other reviews suggested that the usb port cover is a weakness, that is true. Another suggested that you could get pinched opening and closing the lantern, and, while I see that as possible it is strikes me as a tad situational (children learning to handle it). The directions say to crank 3-5 minutes in either direction to charge, so I did and am using it to light a dark room right now. It gives off a nice amount of light. Comfortable to read by. Will have to come back at a later time to confirm battery life, but I anticipate this little lantern being a good value for hheoney and plan to order another. Review: Brilliant little lantern - It’s perfect in its simplicity. It’s a lantern that can light up a small room or be dimmed when you need just a little light but don’t want to wake up those around you. It charged by solar panels, usb, and a hand crank when you really have no power. And you can charge your phone with it. Fully charged, as just a light it lasts for several hours . Great for power outrages, camping, or backpacking/ hostel stays. Great value for the money!
