Update: Knafs Customer Service is great! Seemed great until I tried to use it...
Update: I reached out to Knafs and without any questions they sent me a new sharpening stone. This be one is perfect, and Knafs prices once again their customer service is priority. So if you're looking for a pocket on the go sharpening stone, this is a great one.So this seemed like the perfect tool for on the go sharpening needs. It was compact, lightweight and had both a course and fine surface for sharpening. I own a number of Knafs products and have universally loved them. But this sharpening plate in particular has a flaw, that is perhaps only a problem on mine. On the fine side of the sharpener there are a number of rough spots, and one in particular (attached picture) that basically makes the fine unusable. It would seem the QC missed this and now this piece is useless as all it does is mar the edge because of the jagged piece sticking out. Unfortunately I purchased this for an on the go knife kit and didn't try to use it until my 30 day return window was up. Oh well, hopefully they can fix their QC on these.

Good product
Product is as described.I am using it to sharpen table saw blade. It works well.

Needs more grit options.
It is a great little portable sharpening plate. Much better than the pirtable rods, and the credit card plates. I only wish it was available in different grits. It would be nice to have a double sided fine and very fine plate so that I could make things actualy sharp with these, instead of using other tools.

Not what I expected, but useful.
At first, I was disappointed with this abrasive tool. Even the "fine" side is MUCH coarser than the fine side of the corborundum stone that I have always used. In my opinion, it will be impossible to get a sharp edge on a knife using only this tool. What I did find out, though, was that it was very useful in establishing a good, flat basic edge shape. I had not been able to do this very well with the stone. Using this tool, the fine side of the stone, and then a leather strop with abrasive, I was able to get well-shaped razor sharp edges. For that first step, it was well worth the price and will be used often in the future.
