Essentials of Statistics (4th Edition) (Triola Statistics Series) 4th Edition

I received my purchase within 2 days of ordering, and the book was in excellent condition. The top cover was creased, but that's to be expected with a used textbook. There was no marking in the book, and all the additional materials were still intact! The product has been an excellent resource to help me complete this course. Not fond of the study material, but after this semester, I won't ever have to take a course in statistics again- woohoo!

Fast and easy, great shape

I'm taking a college statistics class online, and this is the book that my course requires (I also had to buy a MyStatLab student access kit). This book provides tons of examples and practice problems. I always feel super prepared for my tests after I have completed the practice problems. I'm pretty pleased with this book, considering that I am able to teach myself from it and actually learn and earn good grades.

The book was in awesome shape. Then I went to class and the teacher said we wouldn't need the book. So I emailed about returning it. I didn't look on Amazon for the email response and I guess my spam filter kicked it out of my inbox. When I finally saw it on Amazon, it was past the return time. So I emailed again and mailed my book back. I continued to mess stuff up by mailing it with no identifying information. So I emailed again. They found my book and gave me a refund... even though I was a complete pain in the butt.

If you are taking this course, i would suggest the book and review book to go along with the website. I benefitted by going back to actually look at the examples and definitions given . I took this class during the summer and didn't decide to break down and get the book until my first test grade. I was afraid that I ordered it too late, but both books arrived by the next week and I kept them in tact to pass on to the next poor soul to get tortured by stats

I must admit, I loathe anything related to math... So you may want to take my post with a grain of salt...With that said, I found that this text had way too many assignment questions, for basically the same problem. My professor would assign 1/4th of the questions that were in each chapter, as he also believed there was just too much work in the book.The text was fairly decent, though. The author tried to explain Statistics to those of us who are math-deficient... But I also felt that the text jumped around quite a bit.All I can say is, I passed the class, and I'm glad I'm finally done with math!!

Best price I could find in a rush. Has answers to odd problems in back which is helpful. And a glossary of terms which came in handy.

This is a lousy statistics book. Its seems whoever wrote it has ADD. Its overly wordy and the reference information is laid out in a disorderly fashion. Oftentimes when you are trying to use one of the books examples to more clearly understand a concept or find answers to problems, the solution is cross referenced to other previous examples. Its like the authors took the lazy way out. If you try to go back to find the reference, the captions are not always clear. I hated this book. Whoever thought this was a good reference to use for a college course has no background in statistics.
