Thorntons Chocolate Smothered Special Toffee Box (485g)

I was looking forward to eating these but it may look like it'll be going straight in the bin. When it arrived the box felt very hot. Think it had been I a hot van from 8am to 3pm, that's 7 hours. Put straight into the fridge as the chocolate was molten. Yet to try the product as they have wielded themselves into one giant mess. Rather sad a waste of good food. Dont think I'll attempt to return what with all the hastle of COVID19 at the moment. Won't buy this again online from Amazon

OLD STOCK. I bought this toffee sell by date had only 5 weeks on it. So I decided to order from thortons which was less than half the price from this seller and surprise surprise had the same bar code and best before date on it. So you can make your own assumptions here. BE AWARE of both companies.

I was really suprised with this product. I couldn't believe how much thorntons had gone downhill. This box of choc toffies were of poor quality the chocolate was equal to cooking chocolate, the centre was of candy toffee not the real toffee you would expect. I was really upset about them as they were a present for my husbands birthday. They were far too expensive for the quality. I won't be ordering thorntons again !

I bought these on Sept 8th at £8.08, my daughter liked them so much I ordered a box for her on Sept 13th but this time at £9.99, bit of a hike. Today Sept 16th £10.65. No thanks. Ripoff springs to mind.

I've been buying this stuff for years now, I've ordered 3 boxes this year (not all for me!) and all have been perfect, & exactly the same as if bought in store.Usually a box costs £7 in Thorntons but they haven't had stock on their site for weeks... so I don't think ~£11 is that unreasonable since Amazon is the only place that seem to be stocking it right now. Mine has a best before of June and its now February, so its not short-datedVery good (though slightly addictive) toffee!

When opened all the chocolate was covered in a whiteresidue perhaps caused by being stored in the sun or near a radiator. Tried it and it tasted awful. Returned.

These chocolates were sun burnt white and stale. Very disappointed as they were a gift fit for the host at a dinner party which was opened at the table. Imagine my horror when I was looking at white stale goods.

What a con! Probably paid a third more for the same box of toffee I could buy over the counter, if the shop was open. Best before date end May😑Disappointed - yesWould I buy again - no
